Map 6 JB4
So I plan on being FBO soon and I wanted to see how I could get Map 6 tuned for me. I have a local speed shop but they have never worked with JB4. How should I get this done and who should I go to?

If you still want more, post on the forum your datalogs. Dont use a shop that does not have any experience with the JB4. All you need to get this done is the JB4 and USB cable ( FBO mods are recommended as well) Check the vendor section for deals

Log from 2000 to +6500rpm in map1, 4th gear with DTC off - two pulls in one log is perfect. Post on n54tech.com and go from there. Down pipe is the first upgrade you will need - cat or de-cat does not matter.
I long thought I would go all the way with Pure Stg 2. Decided for now that Stg 1 is enough. Wheel spin in 4th gear if the tarmac is not perfect running just 16psi on pump 97RON. Toyo R888 is next upgrade for me. 16psi @ 6000rpm will give you ~430 (DynoJet) whp

Wait until you are FBO and try out the base maps as Mike suggested. If you want more power post your logs here or on the other BMS related forums for help on finding more power. That's really the most popular and most sought after path. |

[QUOTE=Jeff@TopGearSolutions;18817451]I would not recommend going to a shop that doesn't know how to work with JB4, they will be completely stumped on what to do with your vehicle.
Okay, I'm Stumped. If the JB4 is easy to install with the DIY guides. Why is it a bad idea to use a shop that works on German cars (to include BMW) all the time. Knows how to install other tunes, but never installed a JB4 before? And they couldn't follow the DIY guides TOO? I don't follow this at all, what do you think Jeff? |

It seems you misunderstand my remark.
If you want a shop to just install the tune, then yes im sure any competent person can install it. However, there is no point to bring it to a shop that doesn't know how to custom tune JB4 as they won't know where to start. The latter was what I thought you wanted a shop to do with your tune. |

Local shop did the install today flawlessly. Running Map 5 like I do in my E90 335ix. Way to go Terry and the gang! |
