Installed H&R Sport Springs on My M235i!

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Just got back from European Auto Source again with another update for you guys!

This time, I bring you (possibly) the first set of H&R Sport Springs installed on the M235i in the states! It's been a long wait since I ordered them, but the drop is just perfect IMO. Not too aggressive, but just enough to look lowered.

The experts at European Auto Source didn't seem to have any issues installing the springs, so it looks to be a straightforward install (having the right tools and knowledgeable people helps). I was in and out in a couple hours.

I didn't notice any difference with the ride quality on the drive home (which consists of smooth to very rough/bumpy surfaces at low and highway speeds), so that's a plus!
Update: After adding some more miles on the car, the ride seems to be a bit bouncier, but nothing I would write home about. I'm also used to cars like the GT3 and GTR (I daily drove them at some point), so take my reporting with a grain of salt.

But enough words, I'll let the photos do the talking!

I would love to do that but I don't want to reduce the ground clearance. I've already scrapped the front end on a steep parking ramp, thankfully its not visible.

That looks pretty good. Any plans to put spacers on the factory wheels? I bet that would really complete the look!

I got some VMR wheels that are getting powdercoated, so I won't be needing any spacers!

Looks really good. Are you expecting it to settle lower? I agree that it looks perfect now, so I'd be hopeful it didn't get any lower.

Love the red w/ the blue M brakes. Hot

It will probably settle a bit more since these photos were taken right after I had the springs installed.

Does this have any negative effects on the different modes of the car such as comfort and sport mode?

Not that I know of. Everything seems to work fine without any errors.

No errors or any issues so far!

Plenty of room for spacers, but I don't plan on getting them (since I have VMR wheels already), so I do not know what will look best.

The VMR V705 wheels I'm getting are 18x8 +45 all around. They are getting powdercoated, so I can't wait to get them on!

I know this may not be favorited by most... But id love to see one slammed with some aggressive wheels/offsets. None the less, that is a gorgeous car and a very nice stance the way it sits.. Congrats!

The rear drop is <perfect>!!!
The front drop is 1/4- 1/3 of an inch too low.

Typical of ALL lowering springs that lower the front too much,
giving the car that "raked" -- hot rod look
so much of the 50/50 distribution

Thanks in advance.

Me too but our votes don't count, what I love about cars is we can all do our own thing, I am always partial to factory spec cars when they come from BMW but I am open to exhaust mods generally. I have friends that can't stand the thought of having a new car for even one week without doing significant mods.

I am curious of the performance difference in a side by side comparison with the lowered car versus factory.

I was thinking the same thing. If that same gap was on the front it would be prefect.

Overall, looks great
