2018 M240i F23 Cabrio Issue

So bought the car about 4 months ago bought it @29,513 miles. currently at around 35k and car runs and drives amazing. only issue is the convert it goes down fine but the driver side latch doesn’t fully latch at all i have to manually put it into place. Also idk if it could be a coding issue because i did code my bmw with bimmerlink to do the comfort access etc.

Also when i put convertible top up driver side window goes 1/2 up the goes back down. any fixes for these two issues? Could people also PM me their like codes they did to your bmw would really appreciate it!

I have both comfort access and the Smartop module on mine. I get the same thing you have on the support cover. It happens when I hold the lock function in CA too long when the top is down, it wants to start to put up the top when I lock it. Maybe that is what is happening to you. I have to make sure I don't hold the lock function too long. But if what you have is just a stuck cover (never goes all the way up rather than mine where it is up but starts to come open)it may help to try and clean the track it moves on.

The window going up when you raise the top is stock function that I can code out in my Smartop module.

I’m a little confused so top is down and i put it back up using the middle button. It’s because i’m holding it for too long? i thought it just closes everything whilst pulling up on the button.

You may have a Smartop module in your car as one feature that can be programmed is to raise the top and have all windows go up but the the driver window goes only 1/2 way up then down.

Easy way to check, turn on the key (don't start) and hold the door lock button on the dash, for 10 -20 seconds. If nothing happens you do not have the module, if the turn indicators on the dash both flash then you do have one.

I have found that the latch doesn't close because the sliders it is on gets dirty.

Clean the sliders and spray it with some WD-40 or Silicone Spray and the latch should move freely and close.
