Good idea to buy a modded m235i?

Im looking at buying a 2014 m235i with 60,000km. These are its specs: Bmw F22 M235i Dinan tuned from usa M sport steering wheel ,BBS rims 18inc ,M blue calipers ,digital cluster, M suspension,Dinan air intake, dinan exhaust system,Dinan intercooler 7.5 inch,VRSF charge pipe,VRSF downpipe ,MHD stage 3 tune 453 HP ,720NM,Dinan distronic, trans Tune

I dont mind paying for repairs. But i would like to know if the build is good and if there is anything that would be an issue.
Thanks.

Is it a Dinan tune, Dinantronics, or MHD? That description makes it sound like the seller is unsure of what the car is running on.

An N55 isn’t putting out 455 HP without some level of added stress to the engine (and everything else). So you have to decide your level of comfort with that. How much added stress? That depends. Is this owner rolling around with anti-lag engaged, an aggressive burble tune, stock spark plugs, and poor engine maintenance? Are they keeping on top of maintenance, running the proper fuel, plugs, and coils, and driving the car responsibly? The car could be very unreliable, or be something that just requires more attention than a stock car. You’re buying the habits of the owner.

Personally, I’d go for one with milder mods unless you’re really itching for max power out of an N55. Longevity will be commensurate with how the car is treated.

I would be very leery of a build like that unless you know the current owner, and how he treats the car.

Also, unless they are done with extraordinary quality, do not include the price of the mods when comparing against similar stock cars. The general rule is that the seller should not expect to recoup the cost of any mods. The depreciation of any mod should be about 50%/year or more.

FWIW, OP is in Lebanon, where the rules of thumb may be quite a bit different than they are here in the States.

I would check where all the work was done with receipts and think about how hard he may have pushed it while driving around. If you are fine with that then why not, if not then I would pass on it

MHD stage 3? afaik, stage 3 would be considered upgraded turbo? I dont see any mention of turbo upgrade though.

I would only buy stock. If you want to mess things up, that's up to you.
