I had a similar wreck occur yesterday in my 228i which I had for 23 days and only had 628 miles on it. I have not gotten the estimate yet but have already contacted a diminished value assessor and will be submitting a claim once the assessment is done. My damage was also on the rear right quarter panel as the force of the collision knocked me off the road toward a telephone pole which I managed to keep from hitting head on but ended up slamming the back side of the car into. I fully expect at least $10000 in damages but we will see.

Sorry man.... It sucks and I feel your pain, not to be a debie downer but just based on my repairs I'd say you won't have your car back until fall if it's as bad as mine was

No, I don't think it will take that long. This place is huge. Parts are not as scarce as they were just a couple of months ago. But we shall see. I am going to be getting a rental car probably today. Hopefully a Cadillac ATS. Be nice to compare the competition

Unhappy

I don't think mine is nearly as bad as yours, but who knows what happened under the car. New Bumper, New Trunk, New right quarter panel, new right wheel, new muffler, maybe exhaust, tail light. Most the right side of the car will need repainted due to the bushes and trees scratching it all up. Hopefully no frame damage, but who knows.

That's good to see that the damage is a little better, and if the insurance company cheaps out and gives you a bad rental tell them that you pay insurance on a premium car and that's what you should get. We said that after they gave us an old ford fusion with front end damage and had been smoked in and we ended up renting a Mercedes c250 from the airport here.

Yep, the guy from Enterprise told me they will always try to put you in a mid size car, but if you go to pick it up and ask to have it upgraded to something comparable to your ride and tell them you will be driving clients in it they will almost always get you a nice car. He said they rent BMWs. At the very least I am wanting the Cadillac ATS or Lincoln MKZ if I can't have an import.

I for sure will, I want to make sure that people after me are fairly compensated if this happens to them

Well I have already gotten a preliminary estimate on mine and it came in at $7100 to fix. Not as bad as I thought it would be. I sent my estimate into Auto Damage Experts to start the DV appraisal ball rolling. They will not appraise it until it is fixed, but they can tell you what your fee will be based off the estimate. Hendrick Luxury Collision told me conservatively July 18th for the repairs to be done. So I figure July 25th. I figure it will be middle to end of August before everything gets settled with DV...if Nationwide does the right thing and doesn't try to low ball me.

Hahah... I'm 40 minutes north of Baltimoe.

I flew to Hendrick 2 months ago to get my 235.

Fantastic Dealership.

Yes, I would have liked to have purchased from them, but I went through True Car and their quote and his dealership at Northlake quote were both over $2000 more than what Florence SC quoted me. I am a no haggle kind of guy, so I did not even consider them to buy this time. They may have gone lower, but I don't like to deal...I like to know what I am paying before I go into the dealership. The other is just exhausting

My sticker was $53,500 ... Sales price was $49,300... All done via text messages, in a Monday, in 30 minutes.

Flew down the next morning, handed Cam (salesman) the check and I was in the road driving home in less then 45 minutes.

It was perfect.

Awesome! That is about what I got at Florence, like 9.1% off MSRP. I do not know why Hendricks quotes were so high for the 228i. They usually only have a few at a time to sell. I think 3 right now. They do have the exact car I bought right now, plus $500 for heated eats. It was not there when I purchased though.
Its funny you came down here to buy a car. Last year I bought my wife a new Pathfinder and I bought it from Carmax in White Marsh in Maryland. I flew into BWI and they picked me up and I just went in and signed papers and drove it back to Charlotte, in 7 hours of course. Rained its butt off that day too

Advice

Have them cut that QP off ASAP. If they don't they may find additional damage later on and have to wait a few days for parts. They just need to be conservative on the cut. I learned this today when I questioned why they did not do it earlier. I was told that's to ensure that they do not cut too far.

Oh they have already removed all of the damaged areas to see what was behind. They set me down and showed me everything with 3d diagrams on a computer. They had it up when I was there and he said in its current state with everything torn apart I may not want to see it so I did not go look myself. He was right it is too depressing. That QP was expensive as they have to replace the outer panel and the inner panel. That area alone was over $1000 in parts. The outer QP was $666 alone. The second most expensive part was the trunk lid, it was $615.

Suspension damage?

Just got a preliminary estimate on mine. Went from $7500 to $16000 when they got inside. And I did go and see it. It was very cool actually. Marked each of the panels to replace. The 2 they fixed. And then to see it built back up. Should get it back Monday. Just hire someone to do the DV claim. The ins company will attempt to low ball you. Check the car inside the shop and out. Good luck.
