Well on the f20 when I turn dsc off the steering gets heavier than in comfort mode. Still need to see if there is any difference from sport to dsc off etc

OK, so in F22 at least steering remains heavy; since steering and suspension (provided you have adaptive suspension) always go together when changing modes, can you confirm your dampers remain stiff, too?

UPDATE: It seems now that on 2015 models, when in Sport or Sport plus and you turn off DSC you no longer go to comfort mode. You now stay in Sport. I verified this yesterday at the dealers M235

Driving Modes in an MY 2015 (from experience): Eco PRO -- who gives a shit. Comfort -- slow throttle, slow shifts, soft suspension, low effort steering, low RPM upshift threshold, DTC off*, eDiff on Sport (with default config) -- fast throttle**, fast shifts, stiff suspension, high effort steering, high RPM upshift threshold, DTC off, eDiff on Sport+ -- fast throttle, fast shifts, stiff suspension, high effort steering, high RPM upshift threshold, DTC on, eDiff on Traction*** (short press of DSC off button) -- slow throttle, slow shifts, soft suspension, low effort steering, low RPM upshift threshold, DTC on, eDiff on DSC OFF -- (long press of DSC off button) -- slow throttle, stiff suspension, high effort steering, LOW upshift RPM threshold, fast shifts only in manual mode, DTC on, eDiff off *DTC OFF = FULL electronic stability control; DTC ON = REDUCED electronic stability control **It is possible that the faster throttle is simply a byproduct of the higher cruising RPM and upshift threshold. I will see if this is the case the next time I drive. ***I have only used Traction mode a couple of times so I will need to confirm this. What I would like: Custom mode that is enabled by default when using my FOB. Fantasy custom mode -- fast throttle, stiff suspension, low effort steering, low upshift RPM threshold in automatic mode but still with fast shifts, fast shifting manual mode, DTC off, eDiff on If someone ever releases a device that enables you to more specifically configure the cars suspension and drivetrain I will buy it. thorttle mapping is not a byproduct of the higher cruising rpm... try this... configure "sport" to "only chassis"... now in comfort at constant throttle, switch to "sport"... and you will see the car accelerates by itself a little bit cause of the different mapping... |

So can anyone confirm that the 2015's have Sport w/ DSC Off?
We now have one say yes and one say no. |

I didn't read your corrected instructions before my next drive. However, I can confirm that there are indeed genuine throttle changes (independent of the changed RPM shifting thresholds) in Sport and Sport+ modes. I can also confirm that these throttle changes do NOT carry over into DSC Off mode. That said, DSC Off mode still has the fast gear changes. Fortunately the Sport+ throttle response can be be mimicked by pressing down the gas pedal faster/further. About the DSC Off suspension configuration: To me it feels different from both the Comfort AND the Sport+ configuration. |
