Left front running hot?
My MY2015 M235i shipped with TPMS set to show temperature and pressure. The dealer was surprised because the 2014s just showed the bar graph.
I've noticed my left front tire runs consistently hotter than the right. Tonight for example after just a few miles it topped 100 while the right front was 88 (closer to the temp of the rears). Pressures in the two front tires is about the same. I'd blame it on the fat guy behind the wheel, but it's consistent whether or not I have a passenger. Is it just proximity to the hotter side off the engine? Anyone else see this? |

I thought maybe I was making a lot of hard rights. But seriously I can watch it increase driving in a straight line on the highway.
I'm wondering if it's not just a bad sensor. |

It must be the engine torque; puts more load on one side of the car. Either that, or you've been unfortunate enough to encounter strong crosswinds from the right.

The additional engine radiator is in the front lower left bumper, ahead of the left front wheel. The hot air going across that radiator exits just ahead of the left front wheel in the wheel well. This could explain the slightly higher temp. As is, 12 degrees difference in tire temp is nothing to worry about.

You can verify if the tire really is getting a bad reading, or if there is another issue, but taking a reading with a tire pryometer. |
