This might be caused by having your digital temperature control/s set low. My AC comes on if I have the temperature controls set to the low 60's or so.

It's just the default state for the car. I've heard theories that it keeps the car from getting a musty smell later in it's life, but I think in general it just helps keep excess humidity from inside the car. AC also doesn't necessarily mean "cold" it just means the AC unit is on. This can be used in the winter as well when the heat is on to help control the humidity inside the car.

You need to set up an iDrive profile...
once you do that the light will not lit everytime you start your car and remember if the AC was on or off the condensation thing is different, the car will turn on the AC automatically but the light would not be on |

Every car I have purchased in the last ten years does the same thing...and people have been asking this same question for the same time. Not sure why it works this way...i run the AC 365 days a year anyway.
