M235i headlights

Anyone out there having problems with there head lights. My warning light for the adaptive head light malfunction came on. Driving light halo does not work and the FEM in the right front kick panel is bad. I am wondering if any body out there has had the same problem

Which M235i? The former version of the rear drive 2 series or the current version of the front wheel drive car? what year? Are you still under warranty?

I just got the dipped beam failure starting a couple weeks ago. Neither my low beam or high beam are coming on for the right side, but the halo seems fine. Scanner shows just a single 804183 code.

I've talked to a few mechanics and they suggested checking the xenon module and bulb, but it looks like we need to remove the whole damn bumper just to get access. How did you get access to and test the FEM? My fuses in the trunk and hood compartment all tested fine, but I suspect none of those split the voltage for a single bulb.

Seconding SteveAZ's comment.

Do you have condensation inside the headlight assembly? If so, this is the cause. One thing to avoid is high pressure washing of these assemblies. I had the same issue on my 550I a few year ago the previous owner had a subscription to the local automatic car wash... Good luck.

I have a 2016 M235i xdrive. Just got word that my entire driver side assembly is bad. I am about to purchase a new one from getbmwparts.com

If anyone can recommend me site where I can find cheaper, please let me know.

thanks.

Hellboy, I have the exact same problem as you on my 2016 m235i where the halo is out, and I get an adaptive headlight malfunction. I took it to the dealer and they told me that the FEM is bad and sending the wrong voltage to the headlight unit. They wanted 1200 bucks to replace the FEM. What did you end up doing to fix the problem?
