Ya, first shot - professional.

Today's shots courtesy of a point and shoot. I'm hoping to get some updated shots by the end of the month.

Wire hidden but not hard wired, still in the cig lighter socket but wire is tucked basically everywhere it can be.

On 1 of the photos you can see the wire coming up from beside the driver seat into the parking brake cover.

I've seen a white one driving by an Asian girl. Also saw a black 228i and that's pretty much it.

To the OP, Gorgeous! Not a fan of red on blue (superman), but I have a blue on the way. I can't wait to get the alcantara/CF kit in it.

Not to steal a thread, but what good are these things? Do they record all the time or only after an accident, or what?

Thank you. I was a bit hesitant at first when ordering (I'm not in my 20s anymore) until I saw it in person. With the tint, it really creates two different environments from the outside to the inside as well.

As for the dashcam? Are you kidding me? I've been an insurance agent for 9 years now and I've seen some really good people get screwed over really badly so it's a small investment that could cost you 1000s later on.

It runs when the car is running. Automatically shuts off around 10 mins after I get out of the car. It has different settings based on regular recording/event recording when it thinks something has happened. Full 1080p, full sound, GPS, etc. I love it.

Here's a video that caught a truck misjudging the height of his rig going underneath a bridge that actually made it onto Jalopnik.

That was on my S4. Here's a quick video of me making it home in time just before a hail storm a few days after picking up the 2er.

You have the option of having it record all the time (even when parked) with an auto shutoff when the voltage is too low (with the power magic pro) or you can do what the OP did and use the cigarette lighter. However, this only records when the car is on but you don't have to worry about the hassle of hard wiring or the battery dying.

OP: Not to go off thread either.. but I've been wanting a dashcam for the longest time. Is it easy to access the videos or do you have to be connected to the same wifi network? In the event you get into an accident, would you be able to pull the video and show the cop or do you need to take the sd card out and play it on something else?

It's honestly so much of an improvement over the brushed aluminum. Really makes it feel like a different car.

Exactly. Mine is the older model without WIFI so I would have to take the card out which isn't a big deal unless you have an iphone. It's not really to show cops either as they really don't matter in the grand scheme of things when dealing with an accident, only the insurance companies do.

I stuck it on the windshield?

The wiring goes up into the headliner, down through the A pillar, under the door sill, behind the passenger seat (under the carpet) and up into the parking brake boot, then out through the shift boot to the cig lighter so out of all of that, maybe 6" of cord is visable.

Haha, I actually did one when I installed it on my Audi. Maybe I'll see if I can dig that up.

Great looking car!

The tint looks spot on for the car. I think I'm going 20% next time.

Thank you.

I've had the exact same tint on all of my vehicles in the last 10 years.

It's actually labelled as 15% but because it's ceramic and not dyed, it ends up being closer to about 18% translucency which is perfect. Can't see in and from the inside it barely feels like it's even tinted.

Cool, I was concerned if visibility from the inside would be compromised. Glad to know that it won't be.

Not with ceramic tint. The difference in temperature inside the car is night and day.

Dog seems to enjoy the interior as well.
