Was able to get to EAS this morning for a quick pull on the dyno. The car made the #s in the title on Map 3 peaking at 21psi. Today I ran e50 w/100% meth.
Next go round the car will be making max power. The plan is to have a custom ECU flash w/custom Map 6 as well as having a PI fitted to the car. This will be happening the first week of Sept as the company that is utilizing my car to showcase their PI fuel system is flying from abroad to install and custom tune it the first week of Sept. As the car currently sits , it's a hoot to drive and with all the updated firmware/OBD connection it's driving as smooth as stock. Just like a few people I was getting frustrated with the lack of consistency from my JB4. However once everything was sorted it was literally a night and day difference in terms of drivability. The JB4 for us EWG F series guys has come a long way, especially for us early adopters. I'll post up some updates , including drag strip #s early next month! Heres a few dyno #'s from my pulls last week. I'm definitely happy with where the car stands. These runs where done on 3.5 gallons of E85 topped w/ 91 pump gas, moderate MAP 6/18 psi. I have another dyno session booked on Tuesday, I'll most likely not have my methanol delivered in time so those runs will be done on race gas to see what #'s we put down. MAP 6/7. Ill report back. I highly recommend PURE if your upgrading your turbo. Customer service is top notch! I ran 6 drag races back to back then immediately got on the road and drove 4 hrs home from Vegas yesterday afternoon. No issues. Thanks guys.
STD , mods are listed in my sig. I hardly ever run 91 alone so no 91 only pulls. OZ Alleggerita HLT , 18.5 ET35 all around. Pulls where done on MAP 6. |

Wow... stock car probably hits the 330tq max at 2500 rpm. You hit it a bit earlier and then continue well past it. Car must feel like a monster.

No. None, not needed with the STG 1 upgrade. I did have a methanol kit installed a few days ago to help with fuel. Quote:

Great numbers.
Very interested in your trap speed with the STG 1 compared to the stock turbo as well as any dynos before the upgrade My Car made 406 rwhp and 470 lb./ft. of torque with the JB4/Map7/DP on E35.-see below Did you lose any low rpm torque with the stage I. Car ran 11.94 @114 in the 1/4 and I thought it was tapped out with the stock turbo. Definitely in if I can pick up an extra 30 rwhp and trap speed with the stage I. To be honest the car feels pretty linear. Going WOT it pulls pretty hard throughout. Maybe lost a touch but unnoticeable to me at least. Here's a VERY short pull with a JB4/Intake (what the owner told me he had) M235i. The length of the strip kept getting shorter and shorter due to "safety" reasons. I believe this was the length it ended on. MFest is hosting a drag event at Fontana Speedway May 3rd. I'll be there so I'll check back in with some actual timed #'s. I should also have those new dyno #s with a more aggressive Map 6 tomorrow. Link to pre PURE dyno. http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1043147 Last edited by dt20011; 04-21-2015 at 12:18 AM.. |

I was missing a BMW so I sold my 2011 GT500 and bought the M235(I was sold after a test drive even though my Shelby made 700 rwhp and ran a high 10). Car has stock turbo/ JB4/down pipe/intake/MPE.I have documented my power and track time progression in another thread. Car maxed out power wise/trap speed with the JB4/E35 alone.I did not see any increment in power or trap speed with the addition of the down pipe and finally the intake. In frustration I added a can of Torco to a tank of E35 after several 12.00 ET's at 113 mph the same day before the 11.9 run on MT drag radials. Before I started running E 35 all the time, I ran 100 octane at the strip and it did not trap any faster. I had trapped the same with the stock tires but best 60ft was 1.9 when it ran 12.3. The improved 60ft with the drag radials alone was what got the car in to the 11's by decreasing the ET by 0.4. |

Prior to that I ran the drag radials-MT 245/45 daily and put the rear tires in front after one of the OEM front tires developed a belt break. I just bought a set of OEM rear wheels to mount the Drag radials permanently so I can mount them for track use only and go back to the OEM set up for daily use. I had planned to drag race the car less(before I break something) after I reached my goal of 11's as I thought the car was tapped out. I am now considering the stage I turbo to see if I can go deeper into the 11's but will have to pay the core charge in case I want to sell the car and go back to stock. Any way below is a picture of the car snow covered. I also found a picture of the car on my installers(DONHINDSPERFOMANCE) website-http://donhindsperformance.com/blogs/. Car is lowered with H&R springs. Not sure if I had the drag radials on then I have my guy their work on all my cars including the BMW I posted the link to the website in case any one local is looking for an excellent speed shop. The shop is out of a Ford dealership in Indianapolis/Fishers and he mostly works on mustangs but he does BMW's and Audi's as well. His rates are very fair at $65 bucks an hour. I am the "Doc" he refers to and several of the cars on the website are mine including the blue "race car", the grey s550 and the lowered Audi. He also lowered my brother's X5. The GT500 on there is the one I sold to buy the M235. . Sorry for the long post and not trying to hijack the thread. I am really looking forward to your results on the dyno and the track(drag strip) |

The 2 looks great and that Mustang was I'm definitely looking forward to hitting Fontana to see the #'s I put down. I picked up a set of Nitto NT05's, not the R's but hopefully it will help me lay down the HP a bit more effectively. Dyno #'s are great but I'm ready to translate that into some real world #'s for sure. I've begun logging some Map 3 runs (so far everything looks good) so hopefully I'll be ready for NFZ/Fontana next weekend. Fuel volume or lack thereof is the bottleneck you'll hit so meth is a must when upgrading. I'm sure you already know but something to think about. If you do decide to upgrade you will not be disappointed. The level of customer service PURE provides is A+. I've damn near harassed them with emails and they always respond quickly. How much longer will you be forward? Stay safe and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the progress you make when you return! |
