Roof height?

Any on have some insight into whether BMW typically adjusts the roof line / hight on M cars? I've always felt the 2 series looked a bit bubbly. Would be great to see a flatter and lower roofline on the M2.

The 2er is a huge improvement over the 1er. The M2 will be wider and slightly lower, but will retain the same roofline. The best news will be a CF Roof.

While it might impose a slight penalty looks-wise, I'll take the taller greenhouse for the extra visibility it imparts. Jumping from the M235 into an A3 at the auto show, the outward visibility of the BMW was so much better. Low-slung greenhouses may look sleek but they are crap to see out of...

LOL. Too bad there is no way of having those perfect sightlines in a car that looks good.

I guess that's my problem. I'll take looks and sleekness over sight lines any day. As long as we're not taking Lamborghini Countach type sight lines where I need to get out of the car to reverse.

No need to reverse, don't even need reverse gear. I worst case I can push the car.

I sort of like how the roof line is, it makes the car look kind of "bubbly" but in a sleek way.

In what way is a huge improvement? I wouldn't say either look that good, in fact I chose the 1 series over the 2 as I think the roof and rear look worse on the 2, the cars too short to have a trunk with that roof line

I would agree with this. But the pregnant belly look of the 1 series is less attractive to me.

He's just a 1 series hater.

I would be rather surprised if they made the roof lower on the M2 beyond simply lowering the car. An M4 might be a better suit if that's such a problem.

The 2er doesn't have a clown car look with the high roof line, like the 1er. However the 1er has a much better looking rear end IMO. With an exception of the 1M, I like the 1er and 2er in convertible form over either coupe. It has something to do with the proportions.
