In Sport+ you won't get it sideways, but you'll feel the back end movement before TC kicks in, maybe a hint of a tail happy car..

In DSC off mode, even without an LSD you should be able to get the back end out quite easily in lower gears/speed. If you have PSS's you may experience some inner wheel spin as the outside tire will have loads of grip, but if that's happening you just need the 'throw' the car out a bit more to shift the weight off of the outside wheel to allow some wheelspin.

Find some time and a safe place to test it out, where you can't go wrong.

D
Yeah, this is what I usually experience in the dry. It feels like the tail wants to break free, but then TC kicks in which in my case is generally a good thing lol. In wet conditions i can get the tail to slide out a bit. By the time I apply opposite lock I can feel the TC kicking in to cut power even though I'm modulating power.

For practice I hit some wide back roads around 11pm when I know that no one is around. So far so good, but I'd rather take this to a track.

In most instances, Sport won't allow for any wheel spin or slip unless the you're driving on a slick or cold surface. Sport+ will allow for a bit of spin amd slip before intervening.

Comfort most of the time but Sport every once in a while. Haven't taken a road trip yet with my car but I imagine Eco Pro would get used then. I don't use Sport+ much, Sport is enough for me.

Before tune: Comfort for city/highway driving, Sport for spirited driving

After tune: Eco for city driving (seems louder too ), comfort for highway driving, barely feel like touching Sport even when driving with others (read: faster cars)

You can customize Sport in iDrive settings.

If I wasn't trying to make my PSS's last a full season, I'd definitely be inclined to get out and make that happen

Or you can just watch Chris Harris until you're blue in the face lol

I think one feels the differences in the driving modes more if you've got a manual. Having a torque converter and quick shifting automatic takes out some of that connection and decision making. I couldn't imagine driving my 6MT in Eco under any conditions except for perhaps trying to get up a hill in the snow.

Should have clarified..read my comment as "the only difference when Sport is set to defaults". Does choosing suspension only in Sport keep the exhaust in comfort settings? Otherwise that is still moot.

It turns off the burble and overrun. Not sure if it keeps the exhaust flap open or closed though (mine is forced open by JB4 24/7).

Exactly! We should form a sub-group!
Yes, the "I get maximum fun out of my car, when my wife is NOT riding with me" group.

Sport and manual mode all the time in town unless I'm carrying spillables (ie: coffee/other liquids), then it's comfort Comfort on the highway for long stretches. I actually found that I get better mileage using sport and manual mode than with eco pro and letting the car figure it out. With sport and manual, I am able to control my own shift points and also cruise at a more optimum rpm. With eco pro, the softer throttle response prolongs the time it takes to get up to speed and when it comes to cruising speed, it drops the rpms way too low to the point where the car barely can maintain the speed and more throttle is needed (thus using more gas).

I've also taken this car out to autocross for the first time this past weekend. Sport+ does allow some slip, but not much at all but definitely noticeable (I'm sure it's a little more pronounced in the RWD though). In fact, the traction control's intrusiveness actually upset the balance of the car at one point; I was accelerating around a chicane and the traction control decide to kick in. With the wheels turned, the sudden drop in power caused a weight shift to the front and the rear end stepped right out. On runs with DSC off, that never happened. With DSC off, even with the awd, I was able to get some on-power oversteer.

Nice chart that user made.

Now go put your car in Sport mode. Turn off Drivetrain in sport settings. Put the car in D (not S or M). Go drive it and report back.

That's good to know. Doing my first Autocross event in 3 weeks.
