Jb4 help
I'm new to tuning and I am thinking about getting the JB4 for my 2015 m235i. I know it's just a piggyback, but what I want to know is wete her or not it can negatively affect the car. Also, if I just unplug the unit from the car will that restore factory settings and not void my warrant or will bmw be able to see that it was chipped still?

If you're worried about negative impact to car or warranty being voided, don't mod. |

The power is more noticeable with the aFe over the BMS system that you can feel in the torque. Run the full JB4 if you are into tuning and changes (downpipe, uppipe, higher flow mufflers) as this would give me the most added power. Daily driver usage could suffer if you are running the upper limits of the system. The aFe is so easy to install and remove (two connections) and the box tucks out of the way without all the extra wires (not used) the BMS system has. Adding a new intake or performance muffler adds to the systems power. If you want simple and moderate power gain the aFe/BMS systems are the best for the money. If you want to keep adding and tuning the engine for the most possible power then JB4 is the way to go. The Stage 1 systems are good for the guy/gal who wants a little more power and torque without hurting the cars normal driveability.

Is this the correct package for the M235i? I only see 2014 listed, but I assume 2015 will work as well.

The Jb stage 1 increases HP by adding boost to the car.
Very similar to AFE. If you would like to achieve more power you can increase the boost set by default. Before your dealer visit, you can remove it and they will not be able to tell that you had a tune installed.

Along the lines of the OP's initial question..
If one insists on skipping stage 1 and goes to JB4 stage 2.. with the wire splicing and all.. Is it something that can be undone quickly before a dealer visit? If not, does anyone know of any Socal dealers that would turn a blind eye and perform service?? |

Also, JB4 doesn't necessarily need to splice wires it's just 2 little needle pokes into the CAN and grounding wires. Along with the 2 plugs that are used in Stage 1. OP: I have a BMS Stage 1 tune for sale (also known as JB Stage 1). Used for less than 1k miles. Let me know |
