Kind of funny to comeback in here couple month later. Everybody was picking on the fact that the M2 had a good power difference vs the M240i that justify the price difference. In Canada you can pick up a base M240i for 46000$ and a loaded one for 54000$ a loaded M2 is 64000$+ waiting time. So unless it is a purchase and you plan to track the car alot it is hard to justify the price difference between the two. I give the M2 the resale value advantage by a mile but in case of a lease it doesn't really matter.

Everyone picks and chooses their own performance metrics to 'justify' their purchase. For many, that will be a 0-60 time. However you certainly don't have to track it to enjoy the light-year's difference in handling characteristics of an M car.

Is there still a LSD option for the M240i? I would say that even if not tracking the car, have a LSD makes for a fun drive on the road. Is that part of the loaded $54K price? If not, that would get the prices closer again...but the wait / lead time is killer I totally agree. |
