OP, first, congratulations on the new car! It looks like you have a lot of experience w BMWs. I was seriously considering Mineral White on Terra, but am now not so sure. What's your experience w MW vs. AW? Although saddle brown goes great w white cars, I'm not so sure about Terra (a little darker and browner) and perhaps basic black interior w/b better for a white car? I'm also considering MG on either Terra or basic black. Would appreciate your thoughts. Enjoy the ride! The M235i is the best design BMW has out there right now!

That is the thing about colors…people are going to like different ones and have their reasons. Stop worrying about what others think and get what you like.

I have never had a blue car before and I am coming from a white A6 (C7) and have an MG 335i (F30) right now. So, I wanted something different and went with blue on the M235i.
Well said... I just need it drilled into my thick skull from time-to-time. Do u prefer MW or AW or MG (ooops u've already indicated MG doesn't suit this car, right?) on the M235i? Terra or Black interior?

Thank you for the write up and appreciate the pictures. I couldn't agree with you more, it's a great little package and really all you need for the street..

Have fun and I look forward to seeing what kind of mods you end up doing!

Great review and congrats!! I'm on the fence on wether or not to downsize for this little car. I currently have a 11' 335 m package e90. We just bought an SUV so the room isn't the issue anymore. I just think this would be a fun fast little ride. In your opinion do you think this is quicker than a 335 with PPK on it. Essentially I think that's all this car is, the n55 with the PPK straight from factory. BMW states 4.8 0-60 times but in my opinion I feel BMW always states .4-.5 seconds slower than actual times. What's your take? Thanks!!

Congrats on the car! Did you get it with the 6speed or the 8speed? If 6 speed, how do the shifts and clutch work feel?

Agreed. The rear is my least favorite view of the car. I also don't like the way the trunk lid integrates.

Otherwise, looks and sounds like a great car.

I have to admit I was really scared about the rear end, specifically the diffuser. I think it is a real strength of the E82 design, and the M235's rear in pics left a lot to be desired.

In person, I believe it looks a lot better, especially if you stand back and give it some room. Just my opinion.

If this helps I came from an '08 e92 335i to a '11 e90 335i M Sport. Definitely preferred the way the e92 handled and the n54 engine was great. Decided to go with a M235 which arrives next week and after test driving the dealer demo (M235i) I can say I think I prefer it to my e92. Perfect size, quite quick, great driving position, sounds great and very solid and balanced feel. This thing is just fun to drive. The M235 gains the extra power thanks to a different steel crankshaft over the standard N55. Test drive one and I think you'll be impressed.

Congratulations, it's a great car. Yesterday I bought a 328 M Sport. While paperwork was bung prepared I took the one M235 on the lot for a spin and absolutely loved it. If the kids had already left for college, I'd have bought it instead of the 328. Nothing against the 328, I love it and, for now, I need 4 doors but the M235 was fantastic. Enjoy it - I'm sure you will.

Thanks!! So the m235 does not have the PPK added?? It's just a different crank shaft? Thanks for all the input. Keep us posted once you get yours and you have more time with it!! Enjoy

it was also tuned by M, but I'm not sure if that means they just added the MPPK or did additional tuning.

Rumor has it an MPPK will come out for the M235i.

Is there any way to measure the oil temperature and/or coolant temperature?

I've been dying to find that out.
Truthfully, I haven't spent a ton of time digging through all the menus. From what I have though, I haven't seen anything unfortunately. It would be awesome to have the ability to reassign the HP and torque digital gauges to temp or boost.

Dang!! Missed seeing the 2er by a single day. I'm in Annapolis, and swung by this morning to see if I could see one in person on the lot. Had an '08 135 in AW with coral red interior....loved it!! Congrats on the new 2er, OP, enjoy it in good health!!
