What model year do we expect to see the 2-series LCI refresh? And when would that translate to starting to see spy shots? I haven't followed BMW long enough to have a feel for their refresh cycle.

About every 3 years it seems. Regarding the 2-series, BMW seems to be focusing more on the M2 than the LCI 2er. I reckon that they'll work on the LCI 2er when they're finished with the M2.

So far I'm thinking that the LCI will have some sort of new LED tails (as they do for every LCI for some reason), an option for LED headlights, & maybe some sort of rev-matching feature for 6MT equipped cars. I doubt they'll put the new iDrive with motion gestures in the LCI 2er since it'll barely be in the 7er by then. Gotta give those 7er guys something to hold over the rest of the lineup's heads..

I HIGHLY doubt that, we're no longer in the E65/66 days where the 7 series has a different nav than the rest of the lineup. As with the CIC/NBT, all of the models will get the new iDrive within that model year or the next.

SOP 7/16, so basically it's due for MY 2017. That's also when it will get the B58 engine.
