Problems with aftermarket intakes?

Saw this thread over 3 Series N55 section and it's put a hold on my plans to get an intake. Anyone here have the same problems with rough idles and/or CEL on the M235i with either the BMS or AFE intakes?
Please also share if you also have a JB4 or not.

So far seems no problems IF you also have the JB4, though waiting to hear back from Delnari though I saw he does have the JB4 as well in another thread, but did have just an aFe intake prior.

Sorry. Yes, JB4 Stage 1 and intake. No problems with this setup for nearly 2000 miles running.

How long did you run just the intake before installing the JB4?

Install AFE intake with stock car, no cel lights, no issue.
Then full mod with Afe Intake, MP rear Box, MP Black Front Grill, MP Rear Side, Roof Spoiler, MP Carbon Trim, JB4 Map5, CPM Underbrace Bar, 18" ProDrive GC07 Forged, Alcantra Interior, LW Splitter, BCS 200cell DP, MP SW.
ARC front strut bar, Wagner FMIC, ER CP also no issue..

No issues. Installed only BMS intake and out about 200 miles on it. Then down pipe and jb4. Almost 500 miles now with no issues.

No issues for me either, also people having issues with JB4 plus intake are probably on the wrong vehicle maps.

The JB4 Stage 1 has factory plug-in clips and only 2 of them at that. The aFe intake used the factory MAF sensors in same fashion as the stock intake. Keeping away from cutting and splicing was a main goal for my upgrades as I will put it back to stock when I trade it back in.

That's the route I would go too if I do either of those upgrades.

I just installed a BMS Intake on otherwise BONE STOCK m235i. No problems so far and LOVE the sound...no CEL or Drivetrain Malfunction warnings...

Abirmaher has a BMS Intake also on a BONE STOCK 235 for a few days (maybe a week or so) before he put on his JB4...no CEL or Drivetrain Malfunction warnings...

I think the key is to NOT TOUCH the actual sensor on the MAF. Just baby the thing.

You have a JB4 though, so any codes thrown would be auto-cleared.

Best option is this one , you should also invest in the intake scoop which deflects colder and more into the airbox. I see considerable intake temps drops also !! Cold Air Intake System

I just wanna clear some things up, so you can have the aFe intake with no JB4 and still run with no CEL or any problems?
