Beauty, congrats! You just can't beat black car, but I'm biased .. lol

Got an itch for the MP black front grilles + painted front reflectors yet? Would really complete the look, imho. Otherwise looks fantastic as it is!

Looks awesome in that color combo! Very stylish, even with the silver mirrors, which I usually do not like. I vote for keeping the standard grills. Adds a little contrast and provides a design detail that can actually be noticed and appreciated vs. blacking everything out and having those lovely kidneys get lost in the blackness. Enjoy the car! These things are a blast.. especially the 6MT.

What are the painted front reflectors? Are they legal?

I actually like the contrast on the front grilles....in fact I'd like the same sort of contrast on the wheels, the all-black is OK but I like some of the other styles a bit more. Once the tires are worn out, I'll probably swap.

Thanks for the feedback y'all!

A manufacturer cannot certify a vehicle without the originally designed reflectors. Usually, state statutes do not address modifying this part, although that may vary. But, regardless of your aesthetic sense, painting them is a very bad idea, especially on a black car, especially at night, perhaps rainy, with a older driver approaching the same intersection, perhaps with diminished vision at that age. Imagine your grandmother.

The side marker/light strategy for motor vehicles only came to exist because both the GAO and NHTSA did/analyzed in-field research which documented the reduction in side impacts for vehicles with these side markers to justify requiring them. They can't just make new regulations on a whim without economic justification. I suggest resisting the artistic pull and improving your chances of avoiding an impact for your sake and the person who may later say they didn't see you. It happens.

P.S. This topic has been around this forum before over the years. If anyone wants a longer debate/discussion, "Search" will be helpful.

If you went for sunset orange you wouldn’t have to paint them 😂
Luckily we don’t have them in the UK.

Wheels would be the best way to contrast with the Black car/trim. Painted reflectors would never yield you a ticket, but they're required for North American DOT approval. Once the car is landed and tagged, you can start making alterations to little things, like this.

I bought my car with the reflectors "smoked", but eventually I'd like to have the BSM painted one, from iND, like on this blue F22:

Here's a prime example of contrast, done right (imo), and the euro spec non-reflector equipped car, so clean!

Congrats! Black looks so nice clean! It sounds like you would've preferred the bi-color 719's? If those amber reflectors start bugging you, I also recommend iND's painted reflectors. Top shelf quality!

It's a cheap little DIY mod. Here's how I attacked mine recently.

I did the black look on my Estoril 228ix. grill, wheels, rear plate, we have a black and white porcelain plate option in Delaware. I like the reflectors. Black would look awesome.
