Storage Compartment Between Rear Seats

The manual shows a storage compartment between the rear seats that folds down and has a cup holder, which obvi isn't included in any m235i's. Can someone confirm you have this in your 228? I'm guessing it's only in the 228 models.

Some non-US markets get different rear seat options.

My friend was drunk in the backseat while I was driving... I told him to pull down the center and put his drink in the cup holder. He kept saying there wasn't one, I said YES THERE IS STOP BEING STUPID JUST PULL IT DOWN, then I felt bad, cause there wasn't one after further inspection.

No drunk friends in the back of my new M235, when it gets here in about a week.

I also noticed that many of the press reviews mentioned 40/20/40 split seat, which is handy. Yet all the cars I've seen are 60/40 split. Can anyone confirm?

Mine is 60/40, I would assume 40/20/40 would be non-US.

I cannot think of any logical reason the the US gets a different layout except maybe some stupid safety rule regulation ?????

Yup Canadian is 40/20/40 as well. Basically the 20 replaces a ski bag. Cause all Canadians obviously ski.

I do believe there is a cupholder in mine though I can't say I have checked in mine. Thought it did at the auto show haha.

40/20/40

I would definitely buy this option if it was available in the US...

Just checked the pictures I took after my test drive back in Febuary and it does look like the Canadian M235i gets the storage compartment between the rear seats. This pic only shows a partial view of the back seat, but it looks like it shows the storage compartment.

That's also correct, and different than the integrated cupholder.

So in the M235i you don't get leather right across the bottom of the back seats like my E46 M3 in any configuration?

I can't confirm for ALL configurations, but my Canadian M235i with storage package option looks like the last pic posted.

So your leather armrest between the rear back seats folds down and has the cup holders?
