Pricing for Dinan M235i?
Hi everyone,
I been lurking the forums for quite some time and I am finally in the market for a M235i. I have a chance to buy a Dinan stage 4 M235i however I am not sure if the price is fair or if its overpriced so I thought I would ask around first. The seller is asking for 35k and the car is a 2014 and has 33k miles. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! |

Well, that depends...
- Is the car super clean? Miles are not low. - How much does it cost for all the Stage 4 stuff, and is this something you wanted to have done if you buy a stock m235? Mods don't typically add too much to the value. - How long has the Stage 4 stuff been on the car? That level of mods puts a lot more stress on the drivetrain, causing premature wear. Would it make more sense to buy a clean stock example and do your own mods? There is a clean 2014 m235 with similar miles in the classified section on this site right now for $26k.

Dinan advertises the stage 4 tune for $2,884, is that all it is is a tune? Or does it include the 'P3' package that includes the stage 4 tune and other things like the Dinan exhaust $1,399, intake $617, intercooler $953, and bigger turbo $1,749? The package price on Dinan is $6.787. https://www.dinancars.com/product/f2...ies&mid=1183// If you would do this to any car you buy, I'd say its worth a few extra grand to have it already on the car. However, if its not something your going to buy anyway, it may not be worth paying for. And as noted above, if this has been on the car a while there may be some premature wear. |

i would expect it to be cheaper than an equivalent stock m235i. last thing i want when buying a car is for it to be already modded. as everyone else already mentioned, mods can increase wear on the powertrain. plus, a modded car is usually way more likely to have been driven harder and pushed more often. people dont do those kind of mods to drive it slow.

a stage 4 m235, from 14' is putting down about 390whp.
The big turbo, is on par with a Pure stage 1. The intake and FMIC are really good. I would get rid of the Dinan tune, get a flash tune and meth. Add a cattless down pipe, this car should be close to 430/440 wheel. You should get the ER charge pipe, turbo to fmix piping and turbo inlet kit. This is of course if you want max power out of the car in its current setup. 35k is a decent price if it meets everything you are looking for. I would by a stock car and mod myself, but if you want a turn ket tuned car, this is about what you are going to pay.
