i have the blendmount on two other vehicles & already ordered one for my m235i since i like the more permanent solution/look in a "lockable" vehicle.
The eBay one would be perfect for that assuming they have something for the V1, although if memory serves the top of your mount is curved so might be more difficult for someone to fab. If that's the case the home depot option would be great. I can PM you some pics tomorrow.

tell the sales guy to "throw it in" right before you agree to the deal. that's what i did & he walked to the parts department to pick one up while i was signing the paperwork in the f&i office.

make sure you post pics when you take delivery!

My salesguy is a personal friend. I'm gonna email him in advance.. Maybe he'll have it waiting for me.

if he's a personal friend, make him put your new key fob in it. it's a pain in the rump to disassemble. lol

following up on my v1 install. the blendmount arrived friday & i installed it over the weekend. i've installed these mounts in every car i've owned over the past 7-8 years & this was the easiest install yet. i highly recommend it. if you decide to purchase one, use the coupon code "eBay" at checkout & save $16.90 (best deal i could find). btw, i'm not affiliated with the company, just a satisfied repeat customer.

That looks good, thanks for posting pics. Think it's just the angle of the photos but it looks pretty low. Does it obstruct your vision or get annoying at all?

Which blendmount did you order?

Nice install.

it isn't a visual impairment at all in that position. i like this spot the best as it gets the detector out of the way, while keeping it mounted up high. previously, i had it at the top of the windshield but it interfered with the visor.

i ordered the BV1-2017, which was specific to the mirror stem in my m235i and the v1. the site has multiple pics to assist in determining which mount to order. if you still can't determine which one to order, you can snap a pic of your setup and email it to the folks at blendmount & they'll recommend which mount will fit.

So I got the key fob... I had the right T bit and did it myself lol... The key kind of annoyingly flops around on the hinge... Also makes it a bit bulky. How have you been managing your key thus far? I can't decide where to keep it.. I'm leaning on having it on it's own keychain/ring, whatever, instead of along with all my other keys. While it's nice to leave it in the backpack, if I want to leave my backpack in the car/trunk, I need to get my key out, but don't necessarily want to have ALL my keys with me.

Does it still fit in the little slot for your key with this on top?

Great looking M235 too by the way.

I don't think the key fits in there with the fancy cover on it.

yeah, i'm with you regarding our first world problem.

i had the same concerns, so i attached only my house key to the leather fob case to minimize its size. all additional keys stay in my bag. with the leather case, the key is bulky in my pocket but it's worth it to me in order to minimize scratches on the fob. yes, i'm a bit ocd.

i tapped the mirror for the v1 install. it's much easier than running wires down the a-pillar, past the curtain airbags, and all the way to the trunk. total install time was literally 20 minutes & would have been shorter if i wasn't afraid i was going to break the plastic mirror housing.

a few pointers if you're planning to tap the mirror wires:

1) use a credit card to separate the plastic housing right down the middle (read this on another bmw forum & it's spot on). don't worry, it won't break.
2) use the invisicord wire taps and when you think they're in all the way, push one more time. mine kind of "clicked" when i did and they're noticeably more secure. btw, +12v goes into the brown/green wire and the ground goes into the brown/black wire.
3) buy the knock-off invisicord from ebay. i've read criticisms of it but have used it in three different cars over the years and never had a problem. in fact, i purchased two sets & keep one in the glove box in case a set fails, which has never happened. two pair were still about half the price of the brand name.
4) unplug the mirror before you insert the invisicords. you'll gain better access to the plug and won't risk blowing a fuse while you push the pins into the plug. once the pins are secure, reinsert the plug and make sure you push the entire plug back down into its small crevice. you'll know what i mean when you see it.
5) run the cord up inside the plastic cover & tuck it in the roof liner and back down to the detector. based on reading mike valentine's commentary, a higher mount is better and will pick up threats over hills a bit faster. i mounted mine at the top of the windshield until my new blendmount is delivered. i highly recommend you spring for the $130 for one of these awesome mounts. it firmly secures the detector directly under the mirror & looks factory.

hope this helps & sorry for the long post.
which is the ebay cord you got ?

i can't find the original seller but this is the same cord & inline fuse. a bit more expensive but still well worth it, imo.

I love that shade of blue on the 2-series! I saw one on Memorial Day and wanted to test it but another salesman sold it to his client! The color was gorgeous! What is the color of the seats?

i can't access the second link but your first link looks like a cord without an inline fuse. i prefer a cord with an inline fuse.
