I went with the oem staggered sizes..

Thought about 255 in the back, but I don't plan to lower the car and don't want no poke or rubbing..

I'll see if I have to mess with camber at install, am thinking i shouldn't have to.

Nope, unless you mean that all BMWs are limited to some point. Go with the mixed tires, and you get the 840 increased top speed. It's then limited to 155 instead of 130, same as the RWD cars.
You can update the vmax up to 10 hours the car has been running. After the 10hr mark it gets locked
so, i guess its possiable they could change the wheels/tires/ Vmax at the port in germany... or maybe when it gets to US

No, he's wrong. See the cut from the ordering guide below.

840 is the increased top speed limiter. Add the summer tires, runflats go away, and the increased top speed is added.

The website is just info, not guaranteed. The ordering guide is what BMW builds to.
Why is this so important to everyone? Everyone tracks? On What track can you see over 130?

It is "possible" but most probably... "unlikely"

Port will not be able or authorized to do it.... BMW won't be responsible if your dealer screwed up the order... the dealer should have ordered you another car...

I wouldn't... I guess it depends on the dealer, the deal, etc. A new set of wheels and tires costs the dealer a few thousand.

Yes but he has a new set of wheels and tires as take offs, net cost isn't that high.
All the OP needs are the Michelin PSS tires anyway. He will get the better ride and more grip.

Right. It makes consumer sense, but I don't think the dealership will see it that way. Swapping tires is a service issue, not a sales issue. Service department will have to be stuck with a set of tires not in their inventory, that have already been mounted and driven on. So, they won't exactly see it the way you describe it.

What size are your wheels? Widths and offsets. Also be sure to post some pictures after they are installed.

I know what youre saying but it beats re-ordering the car and having an angry customer.

And how might one do that? Seriously, I'm not being snide. It would be great if that's the case!

The DME needs to be reflashed with firmware. Not really that great...

You need to code it.

It's in the DME Ecu I believe

Else you could add s840 to the FA and VO code DME and the traction control Ecu

This whole 10 hour window sounds ridiculous to me! Not saying I don't believe you, I do. I feel like BMW arbitrarily decided to set this time frame to 10 hours.

Ya probably something just in case they screwed something up so they can modify it before leaving the factory.

It's not 10 hrs since production but 10 continuous hours of the car running

even if they gave me new summer tires, I would still need to keep the A/S runflats, since I need those upon lease return since that's listed as stock tires on VIN

ya you will need to get tires in good condition at the end of the lease anyway... so maybe just try to get them to give you the PSS at cost or something and keep the RFT for when you return the car maybe

here is the reference thread http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...highlight=vmax

Stupid question but when you say 10 continuous hours, does it mean the car needs to be running for 10 hours straight or a total of 10 hours? lol

Total of 10 hours of runtime which probably also counts as soon as ignition is turned on so not explicitly the engine running

Its actually a parts issue...Me, the parts manager and Sales all had to huddle-up to make it right for me.

To my dealers credit they did...This is also the 6th vehicle I have gotten from them, so I expect preferential treatment too

Maybe see you around at a club event?

I think I will start a new tread as I have a question or two on xdrive and tire sizes.
