Its our response to a growth segment that continuously appeals to new customers. We know exactly who we are aiming for with the Active Tourer and we also look forward to a previous BMW customer who has had to leave the brand in order to grow their family unit.

That "Garbage" is being sent to America because the management see Active Tourer as a second car to a primary BMW. Some customers would trade domestic or import vans for a BMW.
You cannot support production for a large market based on five people from a forum in regards to the M135i. That is the Reality.

No one should be embarrassed to drive the Active Tourer as it drives well and if the car is being used as it was designed for. Then at least the owner knows that his BMW is not only flexible but fulfils his/her requirements perfectly.
Sport oriented and competitive? Really? To what? No one is trading their vans, which can seat 8, for a premium priced AT that can barely seat 5.

Re: the m135i - You can save the hyperbole. It's quite clear there is a market for a hatch. VW gets it.

This post says everything you need to know about BMW's delusional vision and the direction of the brand.

Something for everyone: consider this a Honda Fit or a Nissan Versa with performance, leather seats, sunroof and nicer built!

Once again take off the American sunglasses and look at Europe and Asia and the growth of crossovers and future projection of growth.
Active Tourer is the right concept at the right time for growth.

VW gets it because it is assembled in Mexico. Not Germany. When you add up all production , export costs etc it is not feasible for a company like BMW to chase 5 sales.

One thing I must defend is that BMW are in no way delusional. There are one of a few car companies that can embrace change and progress yet completely stand still on their philosophy.

A BMW will always showcase it philosophy but in an ever changing customer environment it has to be competitive and rely on its attributes and strengths to deliver a car that has more than the sum of its parts.

And rely less on Patriotism.

Scott, you have mastered the art of speaking without saying anything. Ever thought of running for office?

The hybrid three cylinder 4wd grand tourer with 7 seats could be the perfect daily driver for me. Efficient, 4wd, cool sound (three cylinders sounds great), lots of space but relatively compact.

After getting the i3 im reatively hooked on e-drive for city traffic. Works perfect .

These have started to begin to arrive at BMW for personnel use and final evaluation in the real world.

Looking very good in Black Sapphire. And that three cylinder is a gem of an engine.

We will see the Gran Tourer in a couple of short months.

You need my American sunglasses. We account for a large % of your global sales. Just sayin...

Mercedes B Class not A Class, it's other competitor is the new VW Golf Sportvan, it's a high roof hatch, not a normal hatch.
