How often do maps get updated?

Hello,I'm wondering how often the maps are updated with our free updates?
Mine for my region are marked 2016-2. I thought 4 times a year. Just wondering about other folks experience.

It seems random. Mine have updated at least four times in 8 months

I would have told you quarterly, but I'm not 100% sure. Seems to be quarterly?

Seems more random to me as well. I was surprised that after a while you can no longer change the region selection in settings. Makes me wonder what you do when you want other regions to be updated too.

I bought the car in June. Updated in September. Hasn't been updated since. I may call them next week. Thanks.
