Not only OK, it has a way to help you do it automatically. If you are in sport mode and you floor it while pull-holding the left paddle, it will downshift to lowest possible gear. My first 'summer tires' project is going to be learning to use this regularly (I'm new to paddle shifters, and haven't fully programmed myself to use them yet).
