Dinnan stage 2 tune +\- Dinnan upgrades
Hey guys,
I'm new here and will be posting some pics soon of my new M235i. The m2 seemed so out of my price range with prices over 2-5k on msrp. I got my new m235i at around 5k under msrp. So money to spare and I really want to keep warranty in tact and my dealership actually recommends and works with Dinnan. They can get 20% off . I hear the stage 1 is useless but how about stage 2 power package. I was considering the stage 2 tune and the cold air intake. Do I really need the exhaust and inter cooler upgrade to make the Dinnan claims of about 70/80 hp/tq. I use to have a piggy from burger in my 135i and every time a maf blew I got scared shitless going in, they opened two puma cases but nothing ever happened . The entire package for stage 2 is around 5k. ...versus 2400 after discount. And sounds like I can do that work myself. Decisions decisions |

I have the Stage 2 and the CAI. Installed the CAI myself in about 45 mins or so, but had the dealer install the piggy-back. In any case, Stage 2 is plenty for my requirements and I didn't have the IC installed or the Dinan exhaust (although I do have the MPE installed).

Would you mind pm'ing me the information as well? I'm considering going stage 3 with the intercooler at some point but would be looking at stage 2 first.

I work as a tech for a Local BMW dealer here.
Last Week i installed a Stage 2 Dinan kit onto a M235 with the CAI. I was kinda surprised in the end result. Ive done some stage 1's on these cars and even f80/f82 cars and was not impressed with the stage 1.. gains seemed very minimal. The Stage 2 on the M235 was noticeable. Personally i was impressed. That being said, I would save ur money and dont buy the intake. You wont see a big enough gain in power from the intake for the money worth spent. |

Sure thing guys. I just want to make sure I'm not speaking out of my ass. I live in the Bay Area and Dinan is in the Bay Area and apparently they have and give customers Dinan pamphlets and have a good working relationship..
I could even put the parts on the lease or finance of the vehicle . Is that normal.. |

I'm going the same route. I have everything installed except the Stage 2 flash. Hopefully getting that done within the next couple of weeks.
I got a very similar deal, 5k off MSRP, 20% off M accessories. I like the look of mine over the M2.

Don't worry about it. They're just busting your balls. You can always go to your original post and "edit" the post then edit the title.

Lol. Just busting balls. It's funny though, at first I thought it was a typo but then realized it was consistent.
Dinan makes high quality stuff. But if you want a tune and don't plan on doing anything else, go for a custom tune like Enzo. Otherwise, I've been super happy with the JB4. Great flexibility, headroom for all mods and the data logging is a great plus. Terry Burger and his team are super helpful as well. If the warranty issue really has you worried then stick with Dinan. However, read the fine print. I don't know but I think they might require installs be done by an authorized reseller/dealer. |

Hey All,
going with an authorized dealer in the Bay area, actually in san rafael since my dealer was talking out of his @#$. no extra discount. But definitely going with the dinan stage 2. A couple of authorized dealers said you wont get the performance gains with just the tune, because the exhaust and intake open up the airflow, and its tuned for that. Not sure if they just want extra cash. Either way i want the tune now. will get the other stuff later. Cheers all, and thanks for the input or additional input |

Most that have the stage 2 Dinan seem to enjoy it, I'm sure you'll be happy unless you drive in a JB4 tuned car with a downpipe, then you'll be like what did I just pay for and I could of had what? Just kidding, but not really, enjoy the tune and warranty.
