Do many people visit that N54 forum? I never go on it...but I feel like I'm missing a ton of information. I can't keep adding new forums to my list of everyday sites |

N54tech is the Oracle as far as jb4 is concerned as its BMS' own forum..... Less likely to read mis information about jb4 on it compared to other forums. BP

I will say, space becomes very tight once the adapter is on under the cowling. Was a pita to position the jb4 away from the power rail and still manage to get the cowl clip to snap shut. |

All jb4 units ordered now ship with the plastic weatherproof case i believe. The old case doesn't have the weatherproof o-ring rubber seal around the inside of the unit and seems to rattle ever so slightly in the hand. Wouldn't go as far as saying flimsy, they are made out of the same plastic. Reason I'm getting the weatherproof case is purely because it encapsulates the connecters instead of leaving them exposed to dust/ moisture/ live power rails etc. It looks like it will be potentially more awkward to locate in the engine bay as its a good couple of inches longer than the old box (which literally just encapsulates the logic board and is a tight squeeze to begin with). The billet aluminium version has the same weather resistant capability and dimensions, but is going to be more durable as well expensive to buy and ship. Shipping to UK was a further $58 which is why i opted for the plastic version.

N55_FSERIES_OBDII_EWG_6 firmware updated a couple of days ago, but now some of the other gauges will not display data. Oil temp stuck at 190, IAT, AFR and Water temp do not give a reading at all. Map, Boost, GPS speed and a few others work properly. Any suggestions on how to correct this issue...Thanks

Hey,
I just got my BT rev3 sorted out thanks to a bad processor that Burger helped me fix by sending a new chip. My issue now is that oil temp doesn't show up. I downloaded and flashed the latest firmware and rebooted my phone but it's still not showing up. I have a 2014 M235i with EWG, FF, and I'm running positaps. Below is the version I downloaded: N55_f_positap_ewg_3_31.hex Please let me know if I did something wrong. Thanks! |

Or do the following instead:-
- switch JB4 to map 0; - move canbus positaps from under the hood to behind OBD2 port. Connections as follows:- JB4 Canbus -->> OBD2 port wire GREEN -------->> GREY BROWN ------->> BLUE - Load up latest OBDII FW onto JB4 - Select your preferred map Enjoy !

Terry@BMS is gracious enough to let me swap a new, unused BMS DATA cable for the OBDII. Can't wait.
Thanks Terry! |
