M235i not shifting at full throttle

So sometimes when I'm in Sport+ and in Manual mode or Sport mode, the car hesitates to upshift.

This is when I run Map 2 or Map 7 (with race fuel). Other conditions:

- full throttle
- lower speeds/gear
- usually there might have been some wheelspin

Just now, I was running Map 7 on 100 octane (93 mixed with 106) and the car was running very strong. I had it in Sport+ and the transmission in Sport. I was rolling at ~30mph and punched it. The car did spin tires and then it sounded like fuel cut (pops coming from exhaust)...then it shift. It was like a 2-3 second delay.

The question I have is...is this normal? And any way to avoid it?

Thank you!

If the wheels are spinning it's probably the DSC cutting power.... don't you see the light on the dash flashing?

To fully turn it off you need to hold DSC button for 5 secs

A bit of a pussy here cuz the car breaks loose so hard.... Should I try going fast in a straight line with it off?

sport+ will give you a bit more spin but it will only be off if you do the DSC button for 5 secs...

that's up to you.... just make sure there are not curbs to jump around

Awwww man... Now you guys got me all paranoid.

Fine, I'll test out a launch with DSC OFF in a parking lot with no curbs or poles first.

THAT guy had a bad day...and a seriously bruised ego.

This guy is infamous on Jalopnik too. Friends don't let friends drive without a digital tire pressure gauge.

Any of you guys experience it when there wasn't wheelspin?
