well, ceramic brakes do perform VERY well too. in fact my last experience was that they work much smoother and much better than stardard.

Ceramic pads are inferior for performance in general. There is a reason high performance cars don't come with them.

Mine use to rattle a lot also during the first couple of weeks... I barely notice it now. One of my concerns is the noise mine makes when I brake sometimes. It's almost like a thud noise and it usually happens the first couple of miles.

mine does the same, going to report that at 1200 inspection. thud noice on speed bumps and other road imperfections. seems to come from front wheels mechanism.

Hmm, the lack of driving mode selection memory could be helpful if someone else drives your car (e.g. friend, family member, valet, etc.). Selecting the driving mode will become habit.

well it would actually be nice so you could leave it in ECO for friend, family member, valet, etc.

i would never ever give my car to any valet. those people are brainless careless kids (at least everywhere in my city) most of the time. i saw so many cases wgen they damaged cars by drifting inside of parking lots and doing all kinds of stupid things.

Earlier in this thread, I made a post regarding the lack of coolant temp and oil pressure gauges, so suggested that BMW could mitigate this oversight by simply upgrading the firmware/software in the car and present the missing information on the Sports Display.

As a follow-up, I made that very suggestion to BMW Genius. Their reply?

"Per BMW Group policy, we cannot accept unsolicited ideas or suggestions. While we realize this is not the response you anticipated, we hope you understand our position."

So much for customer feedback.

It's a matter of how you phrase your feedback. If you raise the concern about the missing information, they can accept that and pass that along. However, as soon as you provide the suggested solution, their Intellectual Property attorney's direction is to stop the conversation. The concern is that if they ever, even of their own coincidental plan, do something similar to your suggestion, they don't want to wind up in civil litigation. As an extreme example, read about the history of intermittent wipers, although this is a much more minor situation. They may have (as my employer had) a new suggestion submission form which essentially waives all future claims under an intellectual property infringement allegation.

I wouldn't either, but some people do.

If I'm letting my friends or family drive my car...I'll surely be there. But in any case, even if the car started in ECO mode, there's nothing to stop the driver from switching into SPORT. So memory wouldn't be very helpful.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned Android phones, but I find that the Bluetooth works *only* for phone calls. It does not play navigation instructions through the car speakers, and it does not enable the microphone when I give Google Now instructions. If I use my Jawbone ear piece, these two critical functions work perfectly through it (as well as phone calls). Maybe these features are only enabled with the tech package, which I don't have, but it's definitely a disappointment.

Anyone else out there able to get the full capability of Bluetooth with their Android phone? I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (Verizon).
