The short answer is, yes, they can ask you for more money. The longer answer is that if they value your business, they probably will be willing to sell you a comparably-equipped 2017 for the agreed-upon 2016 price. Just good customer relations.

On the flip side, there's always a possibility that the 2017 configuration will actually be cheaper (e.g., when some option that you were ordering has been reclassified as standard equipment). If that's the case, you should definitely ask for an appropriate price reduction. Again, if they value your business, they would likely cooperate.
But if you wind up with a MY 17, then you only get 3 maintainence instead of 4.

Just been called by dealer I have 2 options:

-cancel order, order a M235i without Professional Media Pack ( errrr no....)

Or

- cancel order, order a M240i with Professional Media Pack

Either way it's straight back to the end of the queue...

Which is great seeing as my order has been in since 12th March...

Interesting, my guy said he had to wait to put in the order until Monday too...

Wonder if it's an embargo or something.

I've just dropped an e-mail asking if Apple Carplay is mentioned on the ordering books, if so is it already on my spec/could I add it?

I had "enhanced bluetooth" on my order (I have a work and personal mobile so having 2 phones connected at the same time is great) apparently that option is now called "enhanced bluetooth with wireless charging"

I don't know, but I would have thought that it would as the parts for the Navigation system are unlikely to be different between regions...

Unless the US cars are getting the remainder of the parts as the M240i gets to your shores later...?

Could be that the M2's scheduled for May and June productions are getting these units.

In any case my 228i with Pro is said to be in production with mid-June Munich delivery. No hint of delay or reschedule so far. So there must be a few parts rattling around at the bottom of the bin.

It would/should be all cars (excluding 5, 6 and 7) affected...

What I'm wondering is.... Am I correct in thinking that new year's car start delivery for US and CDN in September? Where here they start in July...

It could be that they have put the parts allocation of the "old" Navigation aside to keep things moving for NA market cars and halted EU cars as their upgrade is more imminent.

Odd I've been told I need to cancel and start again, so back end of the queue. Which is crap as I have had my order in for more that 2 1/2 months.

To be honest I'm feeling really hacked off with this. BMW refer me to my dealer. Where the agent is telling me he can't even see the M240i and has to go to his manager, where he can... (!). The whole thing seems really shambolic and not how I would expect a transaction for "premium" brand to be processing.

I was told on Saturday that my order won't go in until Wednesday as the person who is now handling me (after the previous guy left) is off today and tomorrow... Nothing like feeling that your custom is valued... Wonder if this guy will leave and again I'll have to chase the dealer to find out that my car has been bumped again... (I'm not that high maintenance I had only contracted them twice, once in April, and once two weeks ago when they dropped the "your car is indefinitely delayed bombshell" at no stage had they been in touch with me to tell me how the order was progressing).

I think a letter to BMW grumping about dealer service coming on.

Yep it really is a bit of a joke. My dealer knows nothing and BMW customer services are about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. I suspect BMW will be losing quite a few orders over this, so you would think they would want to provide customers a little more detail in what is actually going on.

Please tell me it ain't so! I have an order on an M235i just placed over 2 weeks ago. My dealer hasn't updated me and from reading on some of the other posts I might get cancelled too. I am now dreading any phone calls from my dealer unless they are happy to honour the same price I am given!

You may still be okay. It appears that the NA market cars are still progressing at the moment.

When I ordered my dealer checked if there were going to be any price changes between my order and (original) delivery date and none were listed. So I've held them to their previous deal, though I'm *still* waiting on confirmation that my new order (wanted to type caps there as per New Order) is in.

Welp, I was told I can choose either a '16 or '17 and I am pushing for the 16! I was also advised that some people who was initially supposed to be getting a May build was forced to a June build and still waiting. I did get the Nav system and hopefully I will get a June build as I really want the car! Hopefully this Pro Nav situation in Europe still is NOT affecting the NA market!!
