I'd still love to have one, but I'm feeling underwhelmed by it. I still think that if BMW introduced a widebody 235 as the m2 initially with just a regular 235 like the 228, it would've gotten similar praise as this |

As a F82 owner I was anxiously waiting for the reveal. Tad bit disappointed about the mirrors but the seats! Love the seats in the F80/F82 not sure why they didn't carry over. In any case, great time to be a car lover this thing looks bad ass! Decisions, Decisions...

True, but they also have to price it somewhere to be able to compete wtih the CLA45 that starts at 50k. My guess is that it will be around 54-56k, no more than that. Also, the price difference between the m235i in the US and Canada is about 1k, and the CLA45 difference is about 1.5k.

Ok so no M mirror and M sport seat
Sharing mirrors and seats with M235i makes BMW to expand their profit with M2.... It looks good over all but if its M gotta have M mirrors and distinctive seat |

you guys complaining about the mirrors should be glad you didn't get an unfinished diffuser with an ugly ass muffler like we got on the F8x

"Alcantara door panel inserts, parking brake boot and shift lever boot (manual transmission only)"
Good news. The only Alcantara accessory I'll be needing is the M Performance wheel. Non-electronic. Don't want all those lights, do want the "blue stripe." And yes, I'll be ordering my BSM M2 with the 6MT.

That being said, the M2 sounds soooo much better than the terrible farting sounding M3/M4.

Comparing this M2 to the standard M235, the difference is not as the difference between the M3 and 335 (now 340). Little things that made the M3/M4 great are not there, mirrors are signature M, how can they be not there, seats are standard, DCT is not as the M3/M4
But please before you jump around and fire back, I wished this car is perfect but to me it is not. My best m now is the F80. Just my opinion, not based on any scientific or engineering facts Good luck to those getting inline to order one, sure a great car let the M3 for me |

FLAME SUIT ACTIVATED!
I am sorry guys I really wanted to like this car but it looks terrible. Aside from the mirrors which I REALLY hope they fix, the fact that there is no CF roof is a huge disappointment. This is an M trademark at this point especially on the coupes (aside from the M6 GC). The lack of color options exterior and interior wise makes me feel they are "testing the waters" and did not have enough faith in this car. There is a market for it but the market is for those who don't want to pay up for the M3/M4 just yet and I guess want more value. People who say this car is the next E46 M3 are out of their minds. Just like the 1M they took parts from the current generation M3/4 and created a baby version. The worse part is, they are using the terrible N55 engine. The exhaust note does not sound much different from the current N55 if you ask me and I had a 335 for reference. Whatever room for improvement will be minimal compared to N54 days which is why at least the 1M had some kind of engine going for it/its limited availability. Thumbs down from me. Maybe the CSL version will address most of these issues. |
