My guess is you can preset the steering, engine and DCT on the different drive modes on the iDrive. So efficient, comfort and sport can be configured or are pre-configured.

Passive shocks is what we all get. But steering, transmission, suspension and throttle response is already changed with the driving mode button on the normal series cars so I guess it will here too. Hopefully it will be configureable though.

I'm not sure I'd order adaptive suspension on this car given it's nature, but I will if I order an F80.
Sure-fire way to believe that any passive M suspension is not too harsh: drive an E86 M coupe (or E85 M roadster, I suspect) for a week! And, I wouldn't have it any softer in that car. M has done a great job with passive suspensions over the years. Even so many years later, I still find the stock suspension on my E39 M5 to be perfect both for daily driving and for more aggressive driving.

Here is the relevant page. It is from BMW's internal 10 page "Product Launch Guide".

Probably an old guide as it is not included in all the press releases and country specific websites about the M2. BMW.com still mentions a HUD for the M2 even though it won't have one so lots of cut and paste from the larger M's going on.

I agree it could be wrong. Mistakes do happen. I hope not because I love the switchable suspension. Some of the local Welsh roads are truly appalling. And I have also officially ordered an M2 CSL although I do not know if it exists...... |

I don't think so. I think it must have EDC/adaptive suspension. If a trusted member or moderator wants to PM me I will email them the document as long as they do not post it. My bollox will be in a sling........

This is a $1000 option on a 340i or M3. If it's standard on the M2 I will be very pleased.
We go by the best information available. If things change, they change. Trebled: As much as I appreciate it, if it were me I would delete the post. Things have a way of catching up to you online and all this will be clear within days or weeks anyway. Better to maintain your relationship with BMW so we can harass you for inside info later |

Thanx for your concern. I will be careful !! Interesting phone call will be when they ring me for a £500 deposit for the M2 CSL order. They couldn't ask me for one last week because it is scotch mist at the moment ! |

Why not? That's ludicrous. That's exactly what I plan on doing, including driving it through Canadian winters.
It will be a special car for sure, yes, but I believe the M2 will be a fantastic daily.

If my race bike will not easily fit into the M2 without removing the front wheel I may keep the M135i. That is a point. I bought the M135i off the showroom floor on impulse when I took my previous M135i in for a service. It was £6k off list with 100 miles on the clock. It was perfect spec bar no heated seats and no folding mirrors. So, tongue in cheek, can I retro fit a heated steering wheel on the M135i and all I have to do on sub zero mornings is sit on the steering wheel for a couple of minutes to toast my butt !? If I have a project which involves big mileage/commuting I invariably go out and buy a 335D Touring. I would/could never put massive mileage on an M car. |

I noticed the page in question around dynamic suspension was posted, but I managed to get the guides photographed and sent to me. New thread is here:

Yep, agreed. Drove my M535i to about 20 races in 1989 and won about 10 of them. In 1990 drove my E30 M3 to a BMW Car Club race and won it.....obviously race prepared cars with cages BUT on treaded tyres. So it can be done !
