MB drivers dont hate us (only a few do), but actually have respect for us. My best freind's dad is a huge Merc man, and the first time I went to her house, he was like "is that you bmw outside", i was like yea, he took me into his garage and said these are proper cars.

well why mercede benz always compare to bmw in performance? why MB manufacture does not give full free maintance package like bmw 4/50K mile.
Why is their 350 Car lack of turning ratio. It is too shift to turn. Why are their always bottom of the list on Top performance overall car.. Why is it majority of the Car Mangzine always pick bmw 335i verse every sport car on the market. Why other like Infiniti Compare their G37 verse 335i. Why Shiv 335i was placed 1 and 2 on the endurance run in Aussie. Why m3 vs supercar and win. why m3 vs audi rs4 . why NIssan GTR vs m3. Why m3 verse Veron.
Please answer that for me MB Fans and engineering.

My father has a C class and I used to have a 3er. I've driven both for long periods of time (weeks at a time), and the two brands are different, so are the drivers they target.
But my uncle made a good point the other day. The new Mercedes cars want to be like BMWs, while the new BMWs cars want to be like Mercedes.

Hahaha!! I think your uncle´s statement is accurate. And in this zig zag we get better competition and improved cars. I honestly would not say one or the other is superior, not even Audi which I don't like at all but greatly respect. You can't have it all in any car so some have better things etc...

Had a 1998 C230 Kompressor and it was an OK vehicle. A friend bought a C280 after they bought Chrysler and having driven his vehicle it did not feel the same any more. After spending some time in Stuttgart recently driving some new models it feels like they are back to the true Mercedes workmanship again. Not sure I would go back again, its the only time I have deviated from BMW ownership!

Yep, IMO MB did not fare so well from the late 90s to about 2004. But I also generally believe that AMG was not affected by all these MB issues. I also agree that they are back in their game.

I know a Lexus sales guy that switched over to selling Mercedes-Benz for the reason that he noticed so many customers simply wanting a Mercedes because it was the brand that they dreamed they could one day obtain. Many could care less about the specific features...they just want that 3 pointed star to tell them they were successful and had "arrived". They don't sit around comparing 0-60 times or Nurburgring lap times...nor do they care how well it takes high speed corners as they aren't racing everyone else out on the roads.

BMW doesn't get all the performance enthusiasts either. Porsche, Audi, Corvette and others get their share of buyers.

There is plenty of room for both BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
