We were never going to see the cars in the U.S. in November. If you tracked the release of the M3 and M4 and from Concept to the SOP for those cars it took awhile.
M4 Concept Released 8/15/14 SOP was reported 2/27/14. First US delivery 6/14/14. I ///M Delivered ED group Trip 6/17/14. That was 10 months from concept to delivery. Not a quick wait, hopefully some of that will be accelerated with the M2 like it was for the 1M. 1M BMW CCA Reveal 8/23/10. SOP was 3/11. First Reported ED 4/4/11. First US Delivery 5/8/11. Only 8 months in that case to the first ED. |

To know the price of the M2 in your local currency just multiply the price of the M235i in your country by 1.338. Last edited by Srac; 08-28-2015 at 04:48 PM.. |

Base M235 price: USA $44,150 Hungary $46,500 (13,075,000 HUf) $46,500 __ $44,150 $62,200 (17,500,000 HUF) __ X X = $62,200 * $44,150 / $46,500 = $59,056 So given the price by zsoci75, and comparing the prices of the M235i in both countries, the M2 price in the USA would be around $59,000. EDIT To answer your question, the M3 price there is 22,960,000 HUF, or $81,686... WTF? http://www.bmw.hu/ EDIT Ok, so going by the M3 price it would cost around $48,000. Oh well, who understands BMW and taxes... I give up. Last edited by Srac; 08-28-2015 at 05:18 PM.. |

At the very least, we know that the ratio in Hungary cannot be applied to the prices in the US. It just won't work. So before anyone comes out and bitches about $59k starting, please do not. At least if you live in the US

I feel for you guys living outside the US. If I still lived in Germany I'd probably be excited to have an Opel Corsa...OK, I'm exaggerating just a little.

For anyone interested, U.K. Base Prices on the road for comparison are
235i manual £35,075 235i auto £36,620 RS3 auto only £40,795 M2 manual £44,070 M2 auto £44,070 plus £2,645 DCT option M3 manual £56,495 M4 manual £57,055 Auto DCT adds another £2,495 GT4 £64,451 but you won't get one for that! Completely sold out and I think these will be trading for £80,000 plus here in the uk Difficult to compare exactly without speccing them up and it seems different countries come with their own base spec. I've gone for M2 manual, hoping for April delivery!

I think that a combined German pricing is the closest you will find to US pricing. Don't forget they add VAT tax at the sticker level. German stripped M235i Eur 37,731. German stripped M2......Eur 47,357. no VAT Ratio 1.2628 US stripped M235i $44,150. w/o destination $44,150 x 1.2628 = $55,752 Projected stripped M2 sticker price $55,752 + destination, give or take $3000. Plus first year ripoff. The M2 probably will not include the DCT for free either and from what I've read, no adaptive suspension which also costs more on the US M3 and M4 I believe.
