The M2C has physical instrument dials, they are just back-lit. The font is subjective but readability is much better.

The 2-series seats are more comfortable to most, which is well known. The M3/M4 seat is better looking to most, also well known. The off-center seat is down to the internal fixing points and affects both seats, but is more or less apparent depending on your seating position. |

File me in the category that this topic is tired and over discussed. I am all for differing opinions, but this type of back and forth just gets old. Drive both and go with what gives you the fizz or whichever is a better value for the price.
In a sea of crossovers and electric appliances, I get genuinely excited when I see someone else on the road in a driver oriented car like the OG and M2C (and the G87 for that matter which I still haven't seen in the wild). They're all tits compared to what the masses are driving. |

I did just that, twice, months apart. I was almost sad to prefer the OG to the Competition model, as I felt the Competition upgrades were a steal for the money. But there was no denying it, the OG sounded better, was more comfortable, and had more of a raw, punchy feeling both times. And I preferred the more classic front end. Had the OG not been available I wouldn't be driving an M Car at this time, as the S55 sound is that offensive to my ears. I envy those that can like it, as it puts the F80/F82/C/CS on their list.

Having driven both cars back to back multiple times in multiple different situations, THIS is why I chose the OG over the C. It just feels more raw. I don’t know how to quantify that into words, maybe it’s an intangible kinda thing, but it just feels more engaging overall. More rawdy. More ruckus. More ‘on edge’. While not exactly like it, it reminds me a lot of the 1M feeling.
The M2C, while a FANTASTIC car, just doesn’t leave me with that feeling. And for myself, the feel of the machine is everything. Sound being a close second, and N55 wins that category. Both are excellent and I appreciate both. It’s always cool to see another F87, no matter which variant on the road. Drive what makes YOU happy and makes YOU smile! |

It's wild how a manufacturer can take a well respected car and add a motorsport engine with more power and an extra turbo, bigger brakes, better lighting, and more supportive seats, and people hate it because it sounds different and has a 1inch black pieces of plastic between the kidneys. But then those same people will turn around on the OG and change the exhaust, modify the brakes, and swap out seats. Weird

Having owned a M235i with N55 for 3 1/2 years, I'm quite familiar with the 2 series/OG seats. They are softer for sure but they don't have nearly the support. The M2C seats fit my body like a glove when dialed in. I think the M2C seats are far superior and I'm not alone in my opinion. It is of course subjective.
The M2C's S55 (tuneability), humongous brakes, braced front end, enhanced M modes, cool seats, M mirrors etc. make the M2C a value package. People can like it or not but those things are true. Last edited by AlpsRider; 03-13-2024 at 03:14 PM.. |

Lol this thread is crazy. As an OG M2 owner, the comp is better in every single way except for the sound. Is it $10k better? Probably. I’d say the S55 and upgraded seats is worth 10k. Is the $10k price difference worth it to YOU? That’s really the only question you should be asking yourself.

I don't mean to disrespect the M2C's drive, it did feel more "refined" both times I drove it, but it also felt heavier. Neither feeling can I explain because the suspension is identical and the weight difference is negligible. I don't think a strut brace alone can do that.
Quote:
Made for less fade on track. The car doesn't stop any better on the street, so to some they're just excess weight, scored wheels, and no possibility of using 18" wheels. Do tell. There is no difference in the support for a street driven car that I can tell, and I've driven multiple M2C's at this point. Quote:
Is that all you see when you compare the grilles? You need to up your perception meds. Nothing wrong with the front of the M2C IMO. In fact, I prefer it to the OG...other than the grille section and the 3 divots at the bottom. You can't fix the sound of the S55 under load without lobbing off a turbo, which few will do. I wanted the red 2NH, not the anthracite. And I have retained my stock seats until I can find a deal on the G-series carbon buckets. Probably never. |

In fact, few people swap to the F80/82 mirrors, seats, and 2NH because all 3 are pretty expensive.
However, given a $0 cost option I feel like most people would swap the mirrors, less but still a large number would swap the seats, and the fewest would swap to the 2NH because of the weight, scores, and loss of the 18" wheel option. Most OG owners keep all 3 or swap to aftermarket mirror caps and call it a day. |

As the performance/sound war continues to be waged...
Age is something else to be considered. For me it was the chance to get an F87 generation car, closer to the end of its production life, with relatively low miles. |

I recently bought an E92 M3 to compliment my OG M2, and quickly realized the N55 and S55 are both garbage compared to the S65.
Everything is relative.
