Launch control- wheel spin

Hi.

First off, I know there's lots of threads regarding launch control how to guides etc. I have searched through some of them to find what I'm after, but sadly no joy.

Secondly, I already know how to launch my m235i, and I can engage it without any issues.

My query is this. When I come to launch it for the first time, everything is set up, little flag showing and away I go, but I get wheel spin for the first second and then it hooks up and goes. Now when I do it again straight after the first launch, with no changes, it hooks up straight away with no wheel spin.

Why is this, and how can I do it with no wheel spin on the first attempt?

The is pretty much stock, apart from m performance exhaust and PS5 all round.

Thanks for any help.

It is probably tire temperature, first spin heats them up. Just like drag racing burnouts.

I've tired doing a launch after a 45 min drive on the motorway, surely the tires would have been well up to temperature after that?

Seems a bit silly that I would need to launch twice for it to work properly

I thought the launch control 'learn'' the surface and control the wheelspin on the next attempt? Of course I could just be imagining that...😂

I think it does learn the road, or at least it has understood what I'm asking it to do for the second attempt.

I want it to hook up and go on the first attempt. For example if I come across someone who wants a spur of the moment drag race, I can't get a launch without spinning

I can't recall one time since I got my car whether either in stock form, tuned, pre LSD, post LSD where I have not experienced some wheel spin in 1st gear when hammering it. Currently running torque limits by gear (for 1st thru 3rd gear) via XHP with Michelin Ps4's at 33psi, and the LSD and there is still a little spinning...when it's really hot a slight spin or just a chirp if I'm lucky.

The RWD autos launch far more effectively with just a brake stall launch. Launch control is woefully inconsistent plus it usually just blows the tires off and then often times upshifts too early because 1st goes up in smoke. If the tires scamper across the pavement on a launch, then you know you got a good launch. If they spin, then you're losing a ton of time.
