After coming out from a 3 month winter garage hibernation, I stopped at the local car wash today for a low pressure spot free rinse since it has CQuartz Professional ceramic paint treatment. Surprisingly I got two thumbs up from a passing Audi SUV owner.

Dude in a LBB M2C noticed my BSM LCI on the highway yesterday. He was pretty pumped...had I not been on the phone with my mother at the time I would have displayed a bit more enthusiasm. At any rate, Was nice to have an M2 buddy on the highway for a few miles.
And that's two M2s I've seen in two days. Literally had never seen one driving around Denver until I started driving mine a week or so ago. Amazing how they just attract each other.

The only reason my M2 gets any attention is because of the LBB color (and obviously your BMW enthusiast). But even then, it doesn't get much attention.
Heck, when I had a loaner 8 Series Grand Coupe, that got more attention than the M2 (mostly from the older folk) I've owned many cars, and I will say that my previous car (2017 Mazda Miata RF), was a complete neck breaker. It got attention everywhere I went (people of all ages, all genders, all levels of enthusiast). The one thing I missed about the Miata, is that no matter what generation, we all wave back, high beam, or if in first generation Miata (NA), they'll wink their headlights. I waived at an e46 M3 and M4 driver the other day, we clearly locked eyes, but they just ignored me....oh well. Also for whatever reason, people were nicer to me on the streets with my Miata than the BMW (cutting me off, trying to over take me, etc) |

I have an AW LCI lowered on Dinan HAS with black 763M wheels (Not flashy, really). There was an X5M parked across from me when I went in to Total Wine the other day. When I came out I was walking behind the X5M driver (coincidence) and he walked over and took a look. When I came up behind him, he said how he has had 7 M cars but this is the one he wanted, in the exact spec I have. It's the only attention I've gotten in it since I got it about a year ago.

B/S marv - I had two separate guys (obviously not BMW enthusiasts) ask me if they could take pictures of my AW LCI M2. |

Due to the coronavirus “Stay at Home” order, for a while I'll only get to drive the M2 on supermarket visits. I got a compliment from a guy in the parking lot and a thumbs up from an M4 driver on the way home.

Man, I will definitely have a Miata in my garage as it is such a great car under $90K. Pure driving pleasure

The last person to notice my car was a dude on the freeway in a RHD Integra Type R.
There was a lot of mutual thumbs upping, but for the most part people ignore my car. I think not being blue or orange has a lot to do with it. |

In Seattle our M2s seem to be invisible. But I got my M2 to impress me not other people.

I just had a lady in a stock Honda Civic try to beat me through a corner from a stop light. We we're sitting side by side to turn left, and I was already planning on taking the turn fast - because I always struggle apexing this turn - and she takes off hard and looks at me after the turn exit. She even hit the gas before I did.
I just don't understand. I've had the weirdest people and cars try to challenge me in the M2. I've had trucks, SUV's and now middle-aged ladies in Civics try to beat me through a corner. I don't know if I should feel flattered or sad. ...or maybe she was just in a "rush"...

Just drove a block from my house to get gas earlier and had a short conversation with a guy at the station.
Guy: Hey man, your car sounds awesome. Me: Oh, thanks, I didn't even have the valves open. Guy: Oh, it has valves? Me: Yeah, it has a comfort setting that is quieter, and a sport setting that opens the exhaust valves and sounds a lot better. Guy: Interesting, how much did that cost? Me: Nothing, it's stock. Guy: Can't beat that. Well, have a good one. Me: You too, stay healthy. Guy: You too. He left before I did, so he didn't get to hear the cold-start, but it was a nice compliment. So notice the M2? Not so much. But notice the exhaust? Several people have commented on it positively. I think we as owners get used to it and want more, but even in comfort mode the car sounds fantastic. |

The only good news with the Exige is that they always lose, no matter what they're driving. |
