black sapphire metallic - hazy
OK, all you Bimmer owners out there who bought one with the black sapphire metallic paint:
I seem to be seeing a slight hazy film on the whole car in spite of my cleaning with Meguiars anti-swirl cleaner and waxing. Is it just the paint itself? Perhaps, I am wrong expecting it to be like the Jet Black paint. I don't know ... it just looks like a low contrast black. Is this your experience?

The paint may need a polish, strip down/clay bar etc. Do mine twice per year to keep it shiny. I find the metallic pearl effect hides a lot of imperfections that "Jet Black" etc tend to expose. I'm very happy with BSM and it will be my paint of choice for my next BMW as well, if available.

sounds like you need a paint correction. Or at least like others have stated, start with a wash that removes and strips all wax and sealers. Get the clay mitt or bar out and do the whole car, than you need a nice wax/sealer/nano coat. Find a local hand wash place if you don't want to do it. Should be like $100 - 150.00 for a mini detail.

I'll try cleaning it and go through the whole with clay block.

A polish will help remove the haziness. Helps if you shine a bright light source at the paint and inspect it for defects, I.e. if it's hologramming or micro swirls.
As for the claybar I would only use if you feel dirt/contaminants embedded into the paint. I.e. if you run your hands over clean paint and feel bumps. Personally I use claybar as little as possible as I find they mar the soft paint on my other car, and i need to polish after the claybar to restore the paint surface. |

That paint looks great! +1 on paint needing a wash/clay/polish |

[QUOTE=Speedwell-Industries;23492767]It's no YMB F80, but it does get a bit of attention as the masses here drive 4x4's and Subaru's lol

It’s beautiful shine and mine does that, too.
The issue I have is shown in your image: examine the upper part of your front left fender. It’s not exactly black — it’s more dark gray. |
