Sort of. I guess I'm going to have to check mine just in case. I feel like I have unnecessary noise sometimes, but it's more of a slightly muted thud than clicking.

Hey going to tackle this in a few days, I purchased a 1/2in socket set but just realized there 12point sockets and not 6point will they still work? Also I should be purchasing metric and not SAE correct?

Make sure you get all the tools you need in this thread. The pinch joint spreader is key. I didn't think I needed it - big mistake. Also I had a rear bolt(s) that was e-torx but 12 point worked.

I couldn't get a pry bar in there. At least not the one I had. Best option is probably eBay although ECS I think has them. During my installation I was in a bit of a bind so took an angle grinder / grinding wheel and made one from a 2" extension. Worked perfect.

Iv used this kit multiple times on a few m235s. I like the design better than the socket style. Having the right tools makes the job way easier

Nice detailed post. I've been thinking about getting Dinan Supplemental Ride Quality & Handling Kit for BMW for my 230i.
Question about the springs, can they be used to lower the car more then 1/2 inch? Last edited by Sidm; 04-26-2018 at 04:53 PM.. |

Thank you very much for the DIY! Got mine done this weekend. Took me quite a bit longer. I had a heck of a time getting the struts out and then getting everything back together. Lots of wiggling and raising, lowering the jack to get it lined up to put bolts back through.
