Tinted Windows?

My car is almost here and now it's time to start the fun part with customizing it. Of course I'm getting the tints done all the way around the car.

I'm thinking 50% that way it's not too dark. I live on Long Island NY and the cops here pull you over real fast with tints. Not to mention being in a Brand new BMW I'm gonna stand out easy here. I don't want to have trouble like I did in the past having to get tickets and have them removed domi think 50% might be fine enough.

If anyone else has the 50 and you can post some pics.

My car is gonna be white with black leather interior so the dark interior will also make the tint seem a little darker.

I would go 40-45% with Huper Optik. It can still be seen through, but the ceramic blocks UV especially nice. Keeps it a lot cooler without looking like you are trying to hide something.

I think you will be safe from police attention at 50%. I had 35% on my last car in NY and I had one cop mention the tints, but no ticket. Should look good

I'm going either 5-10% all around and possibly 50-60% tint on the windshield. Always had these % on my cars. The Florida heat is unbearable

With auto dimming mirrors I feel that my visibility is on the cusp of being too poor and I am at 30%. 35% is the legal limit in my state but there is not really a perceptible difference between 30 and 35. 50% just doesn't seem enough. 5-10% is hazardous.

I was thinking of the 35% but being in my town the cops really break em on you, it just doesn't seem worth the headache. On my old car I had dark tints and got pulled over twice in one week. It was just insane.

Being I'm getting the tint all the way around the car I want it all to match and not have different shades so I think I'm going to go with 50%. I looked at the chart at the BMW dealer and it didn't look that bad on a white car. If I was getting a dark car I would go with a little darker tint.

My Audi A4 with 40% Huper Optik. From the side, you can see through both windows. One window is just barely darker.

50% sides, 40% back window Formula One Pinnacle. Alpine white with black interior. The angle and outdoor lighting makes it so hard to tell how the tint percent will look in person, but I couldn't be happier with my choice. It's exactly what I was looking for.

Wow I'm getting my MW with Black interior in a few weeks and I was thinking about what % to get and I'm in the Bay! Maybe if there's a meet soon I can check out your car in person.

I find 35% on my current car to be a bit too light. I had 50% on my previous car and it was very light.

Thanks for the pics. I'm getting the alpine white with black leather so my car will pretty much resemble yours with the 50%.

Estoril Blue/Black and 20% all around had it for about 1 month now on long island and no cop troubles at all. A little bad when backing up at night.

I'm in Wisconsin and legal limit is 50%. My car is black sapphire metallic. Anyone have some pics? I was leaning towards 35% but I'm thinking that is waaay too dark especially when driving at night.

It's been a while since I had a tint on my car. Do any of you notice if there are clarity issues with the tint? What I mean is are there any issues of how things look with the addition of tint to your glass?

Any pictures of a black sapphire metallic with 50% tint? curious to see if that would even be doable or if it just doesn't matter. If 50% looks like crap then I might not do it at all.

Car just arrived in NY and should be at dealer any day. Before picking it up my CA is having the tints done and I went with 50% all around the car. It might be too light for some but I don't want any more tint tickets. It's just not worth it for me.

The car is 50% all the way around. It looks light at times darker t others but I am very happy with it.

I have grown out of the very dark tints for myself I did that and although j like it on others cars I don't care for it on mine.

With rain it's perfect and at night I have no issues

You do realize there is an exemption in NY for the Tints... And it's not hard to do, lol.
