The M235i must've been seriously tuned for the track! The M235i must have one heck of a setup to beat the 1M's "basically-an-M3" suspension + brakes + 340hp + lighter.

Tires make up a lot for a car's tracking ability. I don't know how competent the tires that comes standard with the M235i but it must be some amazing tires if it can beat the 1M around the track. Let's be real here, how would the M235i's 8AT + LC (if that matters) + assumed magically amazing tires beat the 1M?

I'd say, it's probably a bit better than the 135i/is but it's not going to beat a 1M. Even so, I don't see from the numbers I'm reading that it will decimate a 135i around a track. (I'm assuming all stock here, no M performance and equally skilled drivers in identical weather and road conditions.)
