Charge Pipe install

Holy moly, what a pain in the ass.

I've got the IC dropped and the OEM charge pipe disconnected but can't get it out.

Any ideas (for a AWD if that matters)? Might just saw it in half if I can't wrestle out tomorrow morning.

Jesus.

Did you make sure to remove the clip from the top that connects to the throttle body? I kept twisting and pulling on mine and it came out.

Yeah, everything was disconnected.

Finally got it out! Kept pulling up and twisting clockwise on the upper portion while periodically going under the car and pushing the lower part up.

PITA.

Haha. It's the worst. My arms and hands were so cut up after I did the install. Having someone help with that part would definitely cut down the time. I had to put my oem back in and struggled for an hour trying to get it in. I finally asked my son to help and it went right in.

Yeah, my hands and forearms are pretty tender right now. Getting the new charge pipe installed was no picnic either.
I would've ask my son to help too but he's only seven.

I've done both sides now, the turbo side is terrible, you have to get the bottom coupling line up perfectly with the correct angles or it won't seat on the intercooler. Also make sure to tighten the clamp closest to the turbo first since you won't be able to access it once you've jammed it up there. Keep the bottom clamp loose so you can turn it to get it on the intercooler, then tighten it after everything is hooked up.

PITA to remove oem chargepipe. When I finally got mine out me and my buddy smashed it into the ground. Not the best idea but it felt awesome.

Hmm, I think I have a boost leak. Car is fine at low RPM but seems to lag a bit on higher revs.

How tight should the clamps be?
Also, does anyone have a pic of the coupler area so I can compare with my install? Not exactly sure I have it lined up properly.

I have the VRSF and the clamps are all the way to full tight, metal on metal.
