New 1 series pics?
Saw this in Newport beach yesterday, there was also an x3 that was covered up in the same way. Thought I would share.

Yeah it will be the two series...
It certainly has the same upper part side profile as the E82. I thought that the 2 series will be a completely new design?

That looks like the next 1 which will be called a 2.

Don't really keep up with this stuff but I think the current 1 series coupe/vert will be the 2 series. The 1-series hatch is what will remain as the 1 series going forward.

i'm not very impressed. looks very 'generic' so far. i liked that the 1er had a 'unique' look to it....and that it didn't look like every other BMW. If anything, it incorporated some older design themes from BMWs in the 70s and 80s more than current.....the 2-series looks 'too modern' perhaps. |

The 1 will always look to me like a natural progression and modern take on the e46 M3, though not quite as aggressive. I think they'll have the 2-series maybe on display perhaps at the LA Auto show in November. Might go check that out if they do, wanting to hate it of course. =) Perhaps the M2 will look a lot more aggressive and bad ass. The 2-series looks "soft" and the wheels are bleh, interior looks just like the F30 which is kinda bleh, too. I like the gauges though and if it has heads up display, I'd kill for that. |

while i think there are some E46 influences in the E82, i find it to be more sharp and boxy more like the E21 and E30 as well as the old 2002 (that sharp shoulder line really reminds of the 2002). a nice splash of NSU TT thrown in there as well! |
