dt20011's Build Thread
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I think I finally have enough done to constitute an actual "build" thread so here goes.... I purchased the car May 16th 2014, the following is a chronological picture journey from the beginning up until yesterday. To be honest I never intended to buy the car, hell up until my CA told me about it, I had no idea that an M235i even existed. Of course he managed to talk me into seeing it, then test driving it, the rest is as you know is history. My car before this was an manual Alpine White on black 01 E46 M3. Although the M235i is no match in terms of the visceral experience of driving/rowing the gears of a true M car, the my 235 has become a true blast to drive in its own right. If I had to put it into words, its just an easier car to drive, gets kick ass MPG and is a great looking car out the box. I 100% regret selling the car, this is literally the only pic I have of it..... We all know what happens once the mod bug bites... Current Mods 2014 M235i Engine: PURE Stage 2 w/HF Inlet JB4 w/EWG + FF Wires BMS Intake VRSF Catless DP ER Charge Pipe BMS Meth Kit Muffler Delete Cosmetic: Tuning Werk CF Front Splitter Exotics Tuning CF Rear Diffusor Dinmann CF Side Splitter Blades JB Speed Double Slat Grills BMW M Performance CF Trunk Spoiler iND Front/Rear Reflectors iND Mirror Covers iND Matte Black Emblems Suspension: H&R Sport Lowering Springs Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway Bars Rims: Avant Garde F120 18x8.5 +42 / 18x9.5 +48 Nitto NT05 Front: 225/40/18 Rear: 245/40/18 The car will have a different rim/suspension set up soon. Just waiting on tires and new suspension to arrive. As far as the go fast mods, hopefully some time next week I can get it into have the DV+ BOV installed, Fuel-It LPFP (self install, waiting for it to arrive) oil/spark plugs, dyno tuned (ECU flash) after which I'll post some #'s up. Can't thank the guys over at EAS, PURE, VRSF, Hotchkis & Avant Garde and Gil (E46M3lol) enough for there support and just being kick ass people to deal with. I'd never hesitate to recommend any of them for any of your car related needs! Hope you guys enjoy the pics, I'll update this thread as soon as I can. Heres a complete compilation of the vehicles progression.... I apologize for the assortment of picture sizes! Not exactly sure what I had done at this point to be honest, but as close to stock as can be. MP Front splitter, HR Springs and 15mm spacers all around. Im guessing at this point I had done the muffler delete, intake and had the BMS stage 1 pnp tune. By this point all the body matched IND pieces had been fitted the car was almost FBO (no fmic) JB4 and had the PURE STG 1 fitted. I picked up these OZ rims (18x8.5 et35 all around) from a 3 series member and had front and rear sway bars mounted via Hotchkis. The car by now had all the parts listed in my sig except for the PURE STG 2, I was on the STG 1. Sporting the AG's , new grills and the PURE STG 2. Like i mentioned above the car is currently awaiting the install of some misc go fast bits. Last edited by dt20011; 07-20-2015 at 11:47 PM.. |

Those sideskirt lips though
Crazy how we met when both our cars were completely stock and now we've done so much that there is almost nothing else we can do to them. By the way... I want a rematch when I get my car back from the engine rebuild |

with the car lowered, can't believe you can do 40s in the rear. how does it feel? does it rub when you have people in the back? i want to do 40s all around as well but after lowering, the rear 245/35/18 is pretty close to the fender.

I've had zero issues with rubbing. Car feels and handles great, I rarely have anyone in the back to be honest though. |
