I never received a production number.
I called a dealer out of state (there aren't many dealerships to choose from), and asked if he could order the car, if he had an allotment now, if it would go into production now (as in the "near" future), if there would be any delay that he could foresee, etc. He answered the questions correctly.
I canceled with the current dealer and will be going to order the car this weekend.
I will make sure we understand each other completely before I leave the dealership. I swear I'm really a nice person - I just like to be very straightforward and avoid any misunderstandings about this.
I know some people waited months to get their cars, but after waiting 7 weeks to find out it wasn't even ordered.... well, I'm feeling a bit impatient.
