I had an 08 335xi as well, and yes the HPFP, injectors, coils, LPFP were also horrible in that car.

Experienced this same problem with my Gen1 Mazdaspeed3; swapped in upgraded fuel pump internals and it solved the problem of rail pressure dropping below minimum under WOT. For the life of me, I can't remember what that figure was, but it was consistently 1700+psi at WOT, afterwards.
