Cars in HK usually come heavily speced, as the customer base there seems to like more options.

Whereas, in Australia our cars usually come with the bare minimum

I have to disagree with you here I'm afraid. Having lived in Melbourne for 7 years I find the cars (BMW wise) comes with pretty much the same set of options. People here just spec it out more but it also comes with 100% tax

So many wealthy people here, but our cars are still considered nice here. Owning a car in Hong Kong is like triple everywhere else in the world apart from Singapore. It is not uncommon for people to set out a monthly budget for parking tickets because parking here is simply crazy and the costs of parking... fcuk.
