I know it's for a 135i, but I was under the impression the 135i and the M235i were mechanically similar, therefore hoped maybe there was an off-chance that those torque specs would remain the same. Can anyone provide any insight to this?

It seems like it's the same procedure whether you have an auto or manual transmission.

What tool do you plan to use to get the rear axle shafts out of the differential? BMW seems to spec tool 33 5 120 which is about $750-800 - glorified pry bar. Would a simple pry bar or two work?
