It would also save them money from a manuf. standpoint - less changes would need to be made to the overall line if the same transmissions are going to be used in the M2 as the rest of the 2er lineup.
My guess is that items like CCB will also not be available - just a hunch - not that I would spend 8K on something that would gain me 0 benefit based on how I would drive the car.
EDIT- these are all the more reasons to go more of the stipper route on this car (paint, LEDs, heated seats and that's it for me) and save the options for when you want (if ever) something along the lines of an M3/4. At least IMO.
